I know toyz doesn't carry his stuff, but man I have to rave about it. It's such a killer chorus. I've kinda been on the chorus hunt for awhile and really dug the EH small clone. But I had a bad experience with my Holy Grail, so I opted for the analogman clone chorus. It came today and I'm just blown away. Subtle but effective, not overdone, just perfect really. My last chorus was the Retrosonic, and while it was really nice unit, the chorus was way to wet and lacked control. The CC on the other hand, was just pure bliss. Going through the Balance --> honey bee--> keeley tr-2 --> ad-900 i was getting some really trippy sounds without overchorusing the whole thing. My mustang neck pickup with this setup yield an almost ringmoddy thing on certain notes. Soooo cool. I just can't say enough about this pedal. If he did small stone copy i'd be all over that too!

I tried it in a store and a/b'ed it with my Choralflange. I clearly preferred the Analogman Clone Chorus. The Clone Chorus was warmer and more "organic" sounding. In comparison, the Fulltone was cold, with a sterile 3d image in stereo. YMMV. Unfortunately, I still own the Fulltone (not that it's that bad). The Fulltone is more "transparent" and certainly more tweakable, not to mention the Flange side.

Interesting comparison. I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of fulltone modulation. It's hard to describe, but the ones I've tried all have a clinicalness, a mechanical feel to them. I also feel that sometimes the effect is too "on top" of the sound, rather than being integrated. Nice pedals for sure, but usually leave me wanting more. This held true for the dejavibe and the supa trem.

I love the Analogman as well.

Two knobs, great tone from glassy almost lightly flanged chorus sounds to full on chewy leslie warble.

I know the Retrosonic and the Fulltone have their fans. All three are great boxes. Sometimes for whatever reason a particular pedal just clicks (no pun intended) with you.

I have a Clone Chorus and LOVE it.For a little different tone try running the CC into a Pedal Power 2 set for ACA(14 volts)I like this sound the best.It makes the chorus more intense and chewy.

Thats a good explanation of how I kinda felt with the C/F too.

As a slight surprise to me, I have to say the Clone Chorus has been the most satisfying pedal purchase I have made.

I have the 3-way depth switch installed too, very cool. I use it all the time.

A Univibe, and a Clone Chorus are two different things.

That described it better than what I said. "on top of the effect" is a great description -- I guess someone who viewed that positively might call it "transparent" instead, though. I'm sure some prefer it.

Here's a word for the Clone Chorus -- chewy.

I do, however, like the DejaVibe (haven't compared it to Sweetsounds though). The SupaTrem, while not on top of the effect to my ears did sound too clinical (another good word) to me, so I sold it.

Hmmmmmmmmm . . . I keep saying I am going to send mine back to Mike to add the toggle, then I talk myself out of it saying it can't make that much difference.

Then I read the Musictoyz boards.

You people cost me money !

I owned the CF-1 for a while, but it is not a friend to high output pickups- whether they be single-coils or humbuckers. Got nasty and clippy very easilly. And I sort of agree with the previous assessments of the CF-1 being a bit 'clinical' and / or 'sterile'. I felt that it just wasn't... chorus-y enough. I mean, I'm a fan of transparent, but yikes. And, well, I never use flange so that didn't factor into me keeping the pedal.

Love the AM Clone though!!! I bought it from Mike and it arrived at my house 3 weeks ago. Ordered it with a green LED and the toggle mod. Every toggle position sounds just different enough while still retaining a warm and lush chorus sound... definately cool to have; sure it's not necessary, but you can grab that many more chorus sounds with the toggle.

Anyway, what a great pedal the AM Clone is. I just felt the need to chime in since it certainly exceeded my already high expectations! I took a pic of it, if anyone wants to know where the toggle goes:

OK.... Everyone of you on this thread sucks.... You've all fueled my GAS for a new chorus pedal!!!

Right now I have a CF-1, and while it's a nice pedal... I feel it's lacking the "chewyness" that I want in a chorus pedal. I'm on the waiting list for a Retro-Sonic, but it doesn't seem like they will have any for ahwile.

I'm actually thinking about the AM Bi-Clone. It has the two footswitchable settings, kinda like the Retro Sonic.. but better!!!

I thought about the toggle and some of the other mods as well, but I decided to just keep it simple. I'm glad, it's so easy to use, I don't have to worry about messing around with it.

Headshot - the Retrosonic and the AM are pretty different. The RS is much wetter, the AM more organic, not as overpowering. More control on the AM. I sold the RS for the AM.
