Just a heads up for the Atlanta crew about a couple of shows coming to town. Both at the Red Light Cafe. On July 19 Monte Montgomery is going to be there and on July 28 Adrian Legg is going to be there.

I had logged on to the Red Light website to check on details for the Legg show and noticed Montgomery was coming. I knew his name had been tossed around on the board lately and thought I would throw it out there. I can't even make it that one (wish I could) so someone go and enjoy it for me.

And just in case you don't know him, Adrian Legg is an acoustic fingerstyle player that will blow your mind.

Anyway . . . both are monster musicians you might want to check out.

Thanks man, I'm planning on going to both of those!

For those Atlanta guys that may not know, the Red Light Cafe is a tiny place, maybe holds 150-200 max so advance tickets would be a good idea. You can get advance tickets with no service charge at the box office of the Variety Playhouse in Little 5 Points from 12-6 M-F and on show nights. See you there!

So funky I can smell it!

Is anyone from Atlanta a Barry Richman fan? He's got to be the best unsigned player in the world.

Yeah Joel that would be cool. I can't believe how cheap these shows are too, only $12 for M.M. and $14 for A.L., just like the old days!! Big Grin

Well ok, meterman has a ticket for the Legg show for me, so I look forward to meeting you, Joel. I saw Tim Easton a few months back at the Red Light, nice little room.

Unfortunately, Barry Richman recently had quite a bit of his gear stolen here in town. I wish him the best in this situation, as he's a fine fella, and one of the most gifted jazz-rock/blues-rock improvisers I've ever heard.
