I´m trying to find a Kay Fuzz Tone.

Do you have an opinion on the sound of this one?

Difficult to find? Normal price-range?

You might be the only one looking for one of those. I never heard of it before.

I have one- it's one of the coolest fuzz+upper octave pedals I've ever heard! I saw a youtube clip of Daniel Lanois using it- and I fell in love. They're usually knda pricey on ebay- in the $300 range. If yu're into vintage fuzzes, it's right up there w/ the Univox Super Fuzz in sound quality and mojo.

I think Stax also found this pedal thanks to Lanois. He is a great fan of him.

It´s a japanese pedal isn´t it?

Nothing of any value to add, just thought I'd mention that the orange Kay fuzzwah was the very first pedal I ever owned (some point in the early 70's). I've no idea what it sounded like, and I'm sure I traded it for something stupid.

You could always pick up a Zvex Octane 2/3. It's basically the same exact pedal.

I have to check that one out. I built a Fuzz Face copy from a schematic in Guitar Player in the early 90s. It´s ok but doesn´t sound like the Kay.
