Has anybody tried a Kendrick K Spot yet? I get Gerald's newsletter, and have heard him talk it up for awhile, now. Just wondering if anyone else had heard/played it.

Hey Swain,
I've heard some clips on the website, it sounds great. I'm sure it's a killer amp, but I can't afford anything DIRECT from Kendrick, the pricing is just too much. I'd personally hunt for a used one and go from there.

I can't knock the amp--heck I own 3 Kendricks, they spectacular amps!!!

Yeah, I'll wait. I've never paid for a NEW amp. Besides, they're just getting good and broken in after the first year!
Can't wait to hear one, though. Kendricks are at the top of the list. I have/have owned tweed, and Kendrick is the real deal +. Victorias and THDs are nice, but Kendrick is the one. Have you played with the 118? It makes a GREAT OD pedal.

Hey Swainage!
Nah, I've not played the 118, there's still a few I wouldn't mind playing, but I'm pretty set with mine. If the K is too much $$$, look at the Black Gold models--I've got a 2x10 35 that just roars--great club amp!

I'll throw my two cents in.

While I agree that Kendrick makes some great amps, I think his "fit and finish" leaves something to be desired. I play a Kendrick Bassman one time...great sounding amp, but the chassis was mounted crooked as was one of the back panels. The same thing happened again with another amp I tried, Kendrick's take on a tweed Deluxe mounted in a hexagon shaped cab (Texas Crude maybe?). The chassis was out of line. My feeling is for that kind of money, fit and finish should be perfect. My Victoria tweed Super is perfect, both tonally and cosmetically.

I have seen some "off" details in the Kendricks. But, they sound SO GOOD! I like the Vickys, but the Kendricks just have IT.

hmmm, all the kendricks i've seen have been perfectly made.my texas crude series rig 1x12 in
the ,what they call trapeziod shape,& my tweed
reverb tank are faultless.maybe the ones mentioned were messed with by an owner or tech.
or they were sold as components,a chassis or cab
individually.or as a 2nd,or test model.i've seen them all listed for sale @ one time or another @ kendrick.they were known for their topshelf construction,& shipping techniques.
that said,my victoria bandmaster which i bought new in '95(when they were under a grand!)is also
perfect.so,i guess i have proven...nothing!!!
but,give me points for honesty!

My three have no such issues either, but as Twang put it, that amounts to a warm hill of beans.
One of mine even survived piss-poor packing and the clutches of Fed Ex!!! Big Grin Big Grin
