wondering if anyone has had a chance to compare the fulltone soul bender to the roadrunner supersonic? thanks in advance for any opinion or comment you may offer.

I hear that "MJM" the guy who makes the London Fuzz and Blues Devil made a new Tone Bender clone called Brit-Bender and from my personal experience with his pedal it must be awesome!
The Wyllie "Rising Sun" & "Bendola" cases are really cool looking, with that relief engraving.

I must confess, the Bendola caught my eye and ears too! The sound clip sounds better to me than the Coloursound RI clips. The Bendola can do early Zep tones pretty well and has very effective tone controls. It can produce some deep, big fuzz as well. Overall it's a really good sounding fuzz, all transistor and very quiet. Not as tame as some, not as over the top as others. I don't have any other tonebender reference points, but G.S. offers a full refund policy if it doesn't agree with you...

Where did you locate the sound file for the Wyllie unit? I didn't see anything like that at his site.

I actually e-mailed Glenn for it...he's pretty good about the e-mail turnaround. In fact he's very patient with questions and fully answered every one of mine.

I want the Rising Sun just for the box! Really! Any idea what its modeled on?

The "Rising Sun" is modeled on the Shinei "SuperFuzz". I haven't found any printed references in my Vintage Guitar price guide or online for that particular Shinei unit, but several companies over time have copped that name. The interesting thing about GS' version is that it has an Octave control, so I guess Octave up is part of the sound, not completely defeatable but adjustable to a % of the wet/dry mix. It also has a "boost" switch. I didn't find out what that was about. It's silicon transistor based so it will have that type of sound to it (vs. Germanium...) If you are interested or have other specific ?s, drop GS a line...

That Rising Sun enclosure is probably the most aesthetically pleasing FX box I've seen. If the pedal sounds good, that would be the bonus. That box looks cool.

Since I'm already set for an Octave up fuzz, I'd love to take out the innards and replace them with a tonebender or fuzzface. Did you guys check out the Nuuj's links section? That's a great resource.

Hey mike, It seems that everyone else has went off on tangents about other pedals so here is my opinion: The soulbender rules over the roadrunner. I've tried many pedals and I always seem to return to fulltone pedals like the soulbender. It's very smooth, transparent, and musical. (and, of course, true bypass) Good luck with your never-ending tone search, my friend!!!!
