I love pedals, almost as much as I love amps, but I'm pretty picky. If I spent lots on something and there's something that bugs me about it I'll usually sell it and many times buy something cheaper that'll do the trick. . . Example, for tremelo pedals I've owned the Fulltone Supatrem, the RX Elect Throb and the 4knob Voodoo Lab, but kept the Danelectro mini tuna melt..... I know that's weird but it works for me great...... Carl recently sold me his Sobbat Phasebreaker and man this is an awesome pedal. It doesn't do the multi-step phasing like some of the rackfx do and I think the new Boss PH3 does, but this is one of my favorite pedals. I've owned the original ADA Final Phase (for many years!) , the Boss Ph2, Mxr Phase 90, Mxr Phase 100,the Maxon Pt999,etc over the years, and I love this one way more than those. It is very very transparent if you want it to be, or can almost sound like a univibe, or can be really crazy (like the solo in Lit's "Miserable", or in Incubus's "Drive" ,etc...........Check out MusicToyz's site for a description and/or soundclips but this sounds much better than those clips sound. Heavily recommended to anyone who likes phasers

It is a great pedal and the Vibrato mode is really cool too.
I just did not find a use for it. Maybe if I was recording I would have hung onto it.

Still got it. Great vibe, BUT it is not true-bypass and really screwed up my clean and dirty tone just running thru it. It sucked the bass out.
I liked it so much I didn't want to sell it, so Dave Fox made it true-bypass for me...now it's a keeper.

I love the vibe in the Captain Coconut, but I really like the Glowvibe as well. It reminds me of the original Univox Univibes I owned.

Chris Duarte uses the Glowvibe; and supposedly Vai has one...Duarte's vibe tone is thick as hell.

How does it stack up next to the Sweet Sound, Prescription, Fullers, etc?

Those are all decent...I kept the Glowvibe and had it made true-bypass because I like it better than the above. It reminds me of my old Univox Vibes where the others don't.

Are Sobbat pedals true bypass?

I don't believe they are.
The Glowvibe certainly wasn't.
