I'm looking for 2 (od)-pedals that need to meet some requirements.
-1 has to do clean to low gain-boost -1 has to do good stand-alone gain and TS-ish lead boost -they have to work well together -don't need to be totally transparent, wouldn't mind a slight mid-hump as I'm only playing single coils
As I LOVE my Barber Tone Press, I was thinking their LTD and DDSS would just be what I want. I love the fact both have a bass control onboard because I don't like a lot of low end in my tone so I could dial it away. I played the DDSS and thought it sounded absolutely brilliant.
Other possibilities are the Xotic boosters. Other recommendations/thoughts?

I love the DDSS. My only complaint with this pedal is the heavy compression as you run up the dirt dial. It's not an issue for me because I use my DDSS with the dirt dial on about 8:00.
Lately I been using the DDSS as a dirty boost for my Analogman TS-9DX. The both have different EQ mid-pushes that blend well together...

I've got a Barber Tone Press, TIM and Barber Burn EQ set up together on my board and keep finding more awesome tone combinations than I know what to do with ... this combo should definitely be on your "check 'em out" list.
Yoeri...I hated all the clips of the DRD except for the Fender sounding clip...the LGW clips I did like...
I did however have my DRD modded to take out some of the low mids (more clarity with P-90/hums and sounds awesome with teles) and my PGC to tame some of the high end presence...they are just about perfect...
btw the LGW replaced the LTD which I never got along with and the PGC replaced my Tone Press which dulled my high end in compressor mode more than I like...I also liked the TP better as a clean boost anyway but it just made everything in my setup fatter which I don't need...
if your in the Frankfurt area and want to demo any of the pedals before you buy them...feel free to drop me an email and you can stop buy and demo the pedals if you like...!!

I run my DDSS into my Rivera M-60 or one of my Vintage Marshalls. I like the Harmonic content that the DDSS adds. I usually run the Drive of the DDSS at 9 oclock or lower. If you get much higher it can get a little muddy sounding depending on how hard your amp is already distorting. I actually prefer running it into a driven amp over a clean amp.
I think the DDSS would work well with single coils. I for the most part use Les Pauls. The added mid content of the DDSS does work pretty well with my Strat.
