Eric Gales' newest CD "The Story Of My Life" is a pretty rockin' disc. Blues-Rock baby!
A lot of my students have been digging on "Very Educated". It has a cool main riff using the Bb Blues Scale. It's fun to play, and is actually a really good exercise for them. I still dig "Crystal Vision" as far as his different CD releases go. But, the new one is growing on me. Have any of you guys checked it out? The new Joe Bonamassa "Live From Nowhere In Particular" has some really good moments, too. I really dig how he plays "Just Got Paid Today" with a more swinging, less driving groove than the ZZ Top version. And on top of that, he does some really sweet Eric Johnson type lead. The Back Door Slam CD is another pleasant surprise! But, there's a whole other thread on that one. Michael Burks' "Iron Man" is a disc that has been in my player for a few months, now. Man, he's smooth! And he plays with a real authority that I love. One I want to check out, is Ritchie Kotzen's newest disc. It's supposed to be really great. So, what else is out there? |

Just saw Joe Bonamassa a week or two ago...great show...I'm waiting for my "copy" of the live cd..the ZZ Top into Zeppelin medly thing was cool...( note to self - get a theremin)
besides the Backdoor Slam...hmmm...been listening to some new and old Gov't Mule and the new Black Crowes ( do they count as Blues-ish?)...heard a couple of thing off the new BB King that sounded good ( see that my grave is kept clean) and Buddy Guy's new cd had some good soundin' things... want to listen to the new Marc Brussard EP ( Soul-ish Blues) the Sonny Landreth had some cool stuff and is in my car but hasn't gotten heavy rotation...great playing though...a bit Vai-ish at times on the instrumentals...maybe I'm just jealous I've heard the new Dirty Murphy CD is gonna rawk! ...the pervy sage |

I've been diggin' Eric Lindell's CD Low on Cash Rich in Love. It's not high octane blues rock like some of the others mentioned, but more funky southern soul. It's been described as "a combination of sweet, blue-eyed soul with foot-stomping R&B, swamp pop, funk and blues"
Worth checkin' out. |

Yeah, isn't that the new band Hasselhoff is producing? And I hear that they lip-sync everything on stage. Cool stuff so far guys! I think I'm going to have to check out some of them. |

Lots of cool bands out there that fly under the radar of the mainstream... for starters, check out Delta Moon and Super 400.

Murph,
I've had a similar experience. I was sitting on the pot, and got this feeling that someone was watching me. I couldn't shake this eerie feeling. Some one, or some thing was watching. No doubt about it. Then, out of the corner of my eye........... MOVEMENT!! A-HA! There WAS something there.......... I realized that yes, something was indeed staring at me. It was my CAT! Scared the cr@* out of me! So, then I got the urge to play the "Meow Mix" jingle. |
