search for sasquatch in these threads and you'll be able to find Mr Huge's story of the pedal.

At one point I heard about a 600 ms analog delay from WayHuge called the "Super Aqua Puss", as opposed to the 300 ms "Aqua Puss".
I don't know if it had modulation capabilities or if this version went beyond the prototype stage. |

Well, let me tell you all the story of the Galactic Swankulator
Back in 1996 I was working on developing a 600ms analog delay. Way Huge built 4 prototypes of a pedal called the Super-Puss in 1997. We showed it at the 1997 and 1998 winter NAMM shows. Basically it was a 580 millisecond analog delay with a very simple modulation circuit (like a Deluxe Memory Man), and a single tone control. All throughout 1998 I was working feverishly to redesign the Super-Puss and increase its groovyness! I finished the design and board layout around November of 1998. The new Super-Puss (renamed as the Galactic Swankulator) had 610 milliseconds of delay time, a full modulation section with LFO wave shape, speed, depth and pulsating LEDs, delay time, feedback and a wet dry mix control. I kept the single tone control (which only worked on the repeats) and added a delay time expression pedal port. It was true bypass, using relays and ran on 9 volts A/C. As for the four Super-Puss that were built I have #1; Tim Pierce (a LA session player) has #4, (which was modified to have speed and depth control for the modulation). Unfortunately, a design flaw in the power supply (which fortunately was fixed on #1,3 & 4 before any damage occurred) fried #2. As for #3, I sold that unit back in early 1999 to a persistent Canadian customer. Ive heard that he sold the unit to a store in Canada somewhere. To everyone that will ask No, I dont want to sell my Super-Puss. Sorry, I dont have any PCBs (circuit boards) for the Galactic Swankulator. So, dont look on ebay for a Galactic Swankulator. Also, There were about 20 or 22 Camel Toes made and only 10 Sasquatchs made. Im still working on an update for the Way Huge web page. If you have one of the early hand painted Way Huge pedals (like a Dual Overdrive or a Pro-Overdrive) please send me a photo. Cheers, -Mr. Huge |

Hope the site is updated soon.
I can only hope one day Way Huge rise from the ashes. Suppose the only problem is the fact that Mr Huge doesn't want to. |
