i am looking for directions on how to make your own pedals. preferably directions on how to make a tremelo pedal. anyone have any ideas?

DON'T try building anything with so-called "replacement" transistors. Especially for your first projects, either buy EXACTLY the parts specified or find another circuit. Another possibility is to find a kit to build what you want. I don't have many of those yet, but I hope to in time.
