To everyone who has tried or owned both. I read that they almost have the same functions. But which one has better tone possibilities or better tone. I only have a Fulldrive.

Gotta tie up a few loose ends first, but I'll be ordering a Fireball soon fer sure...
The FDII falls into the " almost but not quite" category for me. Got a feelin' the F'ball is as cool as you say it is, RWFender ! |

Anyone here spent time with their "Fireball" for awhile? Do you still like it, and really hear the difference to the Fulldrive?

I own both !
Same price, same functions, same sound, different look ! I prefer Fireball because : -smaller -switch against pull for comp cut -settings go a bit further -less noisy in extreme settings but I have A/B them and discovered they sound slightly different in mediums. Maybe FDII sounds a little bit flatter (some say processed) than Fireball. I'm not sure since I tried them only with my Prosonic combo... and anyone could prefer one sound on the other... Sorry for the unclear answer but taste is personnal matter ! If you like one, you'll like the other. If you are after creamier or more mid-ranged OD ala Tubescreamer, avoid them ! And don't buy both, keep extra cash to buy a true-bypass wah ! |

quote: We're in the same boat, FF-71. I'm also wait- ing on a Fireball. I'll post my opinions here and I'm especially interested in hearing your views, since you are also an AC 30 guy.(I use blues, not greenbacks. You?) My initial plan: gtr > Picture Wah > BB OD > '69 > Klon > > Fireball > modulation > delay Also plan on installing the Dave Fox wah retrofit in the Picture and probably others in the future. Will do FD II/F'ball shootout, as well. How do you plan on running/comparing your Fireball? Thanks. |

I have tried the picture wha and wasn't too impreesed by it. I still prefer my modified Vox/ MJM Ulysses wha. Right now I'm using: 52' tele RI, Epiphone Casino>London Fuzz>Ulysses wha> Blues Devil>Ibanez AD-9> tuner>Vox Ac30 I'm quite happy with this set-up but, and I sometimes add the ff: Boss Ce-2 MJM Brit-Bender Zvex fuzzfactory I am also interested on getting a Hotcake, because I heard they are great with Voxes. |

I have both of the pedals and do prefer the FB over the FD. The tone is creamier. Banzai is the only other non-Fulltone pedals on my board right now. I love Fulltones stuff but I think my man olaf has madeimprovements upon the Klon Centaur and te Fulltone Fulldrive 2 and his New Rising Sun is giving the Fat-Boost a run for it's money.
