That also reminds me of the movie "Ground Hog Day" or in David's case we shall say "Edge Hog Day."

Actually, I'm kind of impressed that Keeley was able to cram 4 jacks, 2 LED's, a 9V adaptor jack & a switch in a box that's about the right size for a channel switching pedal. One of the first pedals I ever built was just two jacks in a box that size, for a really pure straight through tone.

Its about time someone mentioned that. That is what impresses me about it; The size is great! I'll get one, I'm sure I can find a use for it, and it won't waste space!

I've been looking for some type of looper pedal and I'm glad Rober Keeley is making them. I already have one of his Modded Boss SD-1 pedals which is awesome so I can at least trust his work for future purchases!

I'd like to mention a fairly unusual type of switcher that both Skreddy & myself build. See Tone Dog's topic about the Skreddy dual loop switcher. Either version can be used as either an A/B switcher or as a true bypass switcher for a single pedal or pedal loop, but these pedals allow you to route your signal through your choice of two discrete pedal loops. A while back Troy T Blues wrote to me & asked if I could whip up something to allow him to select either his OD's or his fuzzes without having to tap more than one switch. The dual loop switcher was the result. My version is built into a BB sized box with one switch & one LED on the face. Skred's is in the smaller B sized box with two LED's. Both use either battery or 9V adaptor.

Sick fuzz & cowboy hats.

Does anyone actually have one of these super skinny ones ???

Seems to me if you hit it at the wrong angle it would tip over unless its velcroed...

lose your balance and go crashing into your pedal board...... Cool

The channel switching pedal for my Bandmaster is built into one of those little A boxes. It does tend to tip over if not velcroed.

I've seen these boxes at a local place I shop, went there today in fact cause I needed some stuff for a forumite's job. I noticed that they now have them also in blue powdered box and the standard nekkid box.

I shyed away from using these in the past mostly for the reason you mentioned DonneR... to get weirder I once bought one of the less than 2" square ones... at first with the silly idea of fitting a smokey amp clone in there... it's doable but you obviously power from an external source...

I'm currently experimenting with it since I have it on hand... and I also have a carling dpdt switch that works but got damaged(don't ask Big Grin ) so I damaged it some more (can you say Dremel baby!)and now it fits in there with 3 jacks so I can make an A/B box in that square thing I just need to take the stuff out and wire it. Why I'm bothering cus I have that damn box drilled with holes and I'm not using it, so I gotta figure something no way that box is 'winning' could always do a simple 2 jacks box for the odd times when you need longer cable and have 2 smaller ones at hands but I'd have to patch holes with bondo or something Big Grin

Thank you Jack,Felken,DMT and co.!!
I am glad to have a place to share my pride and joy in my drill guides, it seems my girlfriend just does not get as excited as you guys over this major triumph for mankind. I still get the willies when I have to mark and drill a custom unit (I will never miss that task), the first time I realized that "bit walk" was gone forever, I just wanted to run and hug the machinist that suggested the five sears drill presses ($79.99 each on sale!) and drill fixtures system. It seems drill fixtures were pretty standard fare for Westinghouse to make quick work of multiple drilling. I am going to get a universal fixture made soon with many common placements to help with custom work and prototyping.

Next on the list is a home powdercoat kit! I am lucky to have a very fair and fast powdercoater, but in house would be great. We were also applying our own silk screen for about a year but that also gets trying (and very fume overwhelming) so that gets applied by the same guys who silk screen my friend Jeff Bober's (Budda amps/effects)amps. One day given enough space it all will be in house...one day!

David

Come you masters of war,
With big sized loopers.
Bob Dylooper

Aw, shoot. The little Japanese apartment isn't inovative, it's just something that had a demand in the Japanese market. Those guys are so nice to me and wanted a looper. I couldn't get a looper from a current manufacturing company to build one cheap enough...(you've heard of the slave wages here in Oklahoma right?) Actually 2 of my techs make entry level EE salaries, so I do share the wealth trust me.
Anyway, glad to see there are some swell folks out there. Thanks for the kind words.
Mr. Barber has got some sweet tools there! We have a different way of preventing drill bit walk but it is simply a wraped/folded steel cover for the boxes. Yours look very, very cool.
I had no aspirations of making yet another looper but the truth is it was asked for. On a side note, the guys here at the shop said I couldn't fit all of that stuff into a box, so I had to show them never say never...
Well, lighting a match on a bar of soap underwater is something that could never be done but....
Thanks ya'll
Robert

I love this place -guess I'm a social outcast and very married, maybe a little sick too. Got a SS coming (tomorrow?) and can't wait to hear it. I SO wish I could build things for a living. Guitars, amps and pedals -there is alot of satisfaction in completing something that sounds great. I done bilt me an Allen Tonesavor from a kit and a parts tele, with another on the way. Been considering pedals too! Would never done any of this were it not for the Internet. It's very cool to be able to find so much specific info in just minutes! Enough babbling -thanks for the pics, Dave!

That's just darn near purty! Drilling boxes IMHO is the hardest part. You I'm kinda funny but when I get a new box I do inspect the alignment of the drill holes (I know I'm sick). I'm still trying to talk my dad out of HIS drill press Wink

My idea of porn is nicely wired amps and clean solder joints. I can stare at a handwired pedal for days Razz

I'm in the process of building a OD pedal but I'm scared to death of ruining the box (getting the jacks and stuff put together and then not having room for the battery). I've ruined a few boxes in the past with the ol hand drill technique. I to plan to use the paper template from GEO when I get it together. Thanks for the eye candy Dave!!
