AWESOME. Simple as that. It is clear that Dunlop has been listening to customer feedback over the past several years. Here are some points:

1. The "block logo" mode is greatly improved over the regular Phase 90 RI. First, it is quieter. Second, and more importantly, there's no rush of distortion in the sound -- in other words, there's no need to do an R28 mod on this pedal.

2. The "script logo" mode does exactly what the name says it does. It gives you that old school Phase 90 -- more subtle and clean. Instant Van Halen I tones.

3. The difference between the two modes is not drastic by any means. The block logo mode has more regeneration and more depth of effect. Both modes sound great.

4. The blue LED is SUPER bright. It lights up the whole house.

5. NO tone sucking in bypass -- the hard wire bypass really is just that. I tested this by placing the pedal in a Keeley looper, keeping the EVH on bypass. As I engaged the loop on and off, there was no change in the tone whatsoever.

6. Beautiful graphics on the pedal -- as you can see.

As far as I'm concerned, the EVH is my final stop in the phaser journey. I've been looking for years, but it's been worth the wait.

This is a keeper -- I'm about to peel off the foam pad on the bottom and attach some velcro.

I hope you guys have as good an experience as I'm having.

RD

Thanks for the good review RD! Sounds pretty neat. I gotta say I like the orange box no graphics myself, but if it sounds like a script logo, i might have to pony up.

That is good to hear. That way I won't just be getting one because I am an Eddie fan and can't afford one of the Art series guitars.

I do have a scipt P90 as well so I will be able to compare the 2. Prolly won't be till around xmas though. Frown

Old college buddy supposedly bought one of those new Charvels - - how much are they???

I don't have a phaser on my board...

Now all I need is a TS painted in tiger stripes with Mr. Scary across it.

The Art series that Eddie helps stripe are going for around $15K give or take. They are only selling them on Ebay. I am not sure about the ones that you can get through stores. I haven't seen any prices yet.

I just checked Ebay and the highest $$ one yet sould for 25K. The highest bidder out of all of the auctions gets Eddies custom VH Harley. So I think that is helping jack the price up.

Actually - - for investments, buy one, and sell it on ebay. I smell the next over hyped ebay thing ala Klon, TIM.

... and to think you can do the same with a pawnshop Charvel... strip it down put some tape to it and spray paint the hell out of it plsu you get the fun factor...

In the end being original is better for me, do your own thing and don't just look like a copycat... you can do a lot as far as painting is concerned... that's one of the thing the 80's axe were nice for you had original paintjobs all over the place... you still can do that if you know a guy who does airbrush arts on Harleys and such... you can also do a lot more if you 're willing to research other avenues besides paint Big Grin
