Latest update...

The bulk of the work is done. I've got a bunch of small things to do that all add up.

The wood floor went in last Friday and looks really nice. I stained and sealed all the trim work over the weekend. Monday I bought all the insulation for the sound panels. Now I have to pick out some fabric and cover the raw insulation.

The "sound caulk" arrived today, so tonight I will be caulking all the corners of the walls.

I'm hoping to have the whole thing done around the 15th give or take a couple days.

No I painted it with new colors. The front wall is red and different than the rest of the room.

Dan, it looks really good man…I can’t wait to see the finished room. I like the colors that you used for the walls too. That space has really come a long way in the past few weeks!

LOL!

Looks really nice! Hey H,
Come over to Houston to help me do that to my living room. It is @500 sq ft. with dark paneling. It has been dubbed the "Lodge room." I can either 1)redo it totally or 2)add acouple of mounted deer heads and it would look fine!

Head,

This guy knows bass traps and room treatments. There are some easy builds for effective corner bass traps with get rid of room nodes - your mixes will benefit.

HAHAHA, that's funny. The room next to my control room, or what I call the "Live Room", was covered in dark paneling when I bought the house. The day after I moved in, I ripped it down!

Yes I've read all of Ethan's info on the subject and am using what I've learned to treat my studio. He really knows what he's talking about and lays it out in an easy to understand way.

I'm using Owens Corning 703 and 705 panels that will be covered in fabric. All the vertical corners will be treated. I will also have 3 panels on the ceiling, 3 on the front wall, 1 on each side wall, and the rear wall will be heavily treated as well.

Hopefully this weekend I can find some fabric that will match my room, and start covering the panels.

Always a plus to treat a room... be prepared to tweak it a but in a couple of months down the road after the honeymoon.

Everything that is in the room affects it, oh btw favor fabric over amything else for window treatments obvious but worth mentioning before you go and get fancy wooden blindsWink

One more try at topping the "Master"

OK Dan I think I got you topped today.
I went shopping and found some killer stuff for my mobile studio.

Here is the updated version of my mobile rig.

Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the rig prior to modding it. Big Grin

Well the room itself is basically done. I just have to finish staining the door jamb, and stain the second side of the door. I also have to put the closet doors in, but I haven't decided on the style yet.

Next up is covering all the sound panels in fabric, and then hanging them on the walls. I should hopefully have all that done this weekend. Then I can start moving my gear back in.

Here some pics.

You got it Glorbz! I really wanted a warm feeling for the room. Previously it had zero feeling or soul at all. I'm hoping it will be a place that I can just get lost in the music.

Wow, looks great Dan. Looks just about ready for the Musictoyz crew to start moving our equipment in. Better clear a space for JB's amp collection!

Yeah! And with the rate he changes amps, I'd need to install a revolving door. I've got enough of my own amps to keep after. I don't need Jack's amps of the week!
