Mr Huge...nice hear from you! I was just curious if the Platypus was based on another design?

The Purple Platypus is a re-tuned Red Llama circuit in front of a frequency doubler made with a transistor and two diodes (similar to a Foxx Tone Machine or Octavia). A simple transistor amplifier with gain follows that circuit and goes to the volume pot. Cheers, -Jeorge

MrHuge- I see you like the Line 6 boxes- I hear they were designed by some effects genius guy =']...... I had a couple of the Platypusses and the sound was great- but the signal always seemed to strong..... and was the saffron squeese designed after any particular pedal, Ireally liked it as a slightly compressed clean boost....

well Im very sad to say I dont own a single WH pedal at this moment, I had 3 rhinoes-2 platypusses- and 2 llamas- a squeeze, a tone leper and pig or a pickle(not sure which didnt have it long as I was in a no fuzz mindset ) we had 3 WH dealers in town that happened to be the stores I frequented, so I thoughtthey were everywhere, didnt know how lucky Ihad it......now most are out of my price range.........you still see quite a few guys in st. louis gigging with them......oh well----}
