I don't know how anybody gets a hold of Scotty, all i've ever heard are the "full email box" stories. I can vouch for his Power Driver, nevre leaves my board.

Hey Guys,
Scotty can be reached thru Myspace--he has a page and I have contacted him that way in the past. http://www.myspace.com/proanalog Hope that helps. |

You can also call the phone number on the website. About 2 months ago I called and he just picked up.

I tried that. I even paged him when it gave me that option.
Right now I want to find out the difference between the MKII and MKIII, and how I can get them. |

Well... Scotty describes the MKIII as having everything an MKII has but with "more" tonal options. When I called and spoke to him about ordering a MKII, he talked me into a MKIII. He said it would be a 6 week wait and cost $300 plus shipping. I paid, waited 6 weeks and was told another 6 weeks. I waited again, was told another 4 weeks and pulled the plug on the deal and got my money back. I really wanted one, but have opted to pick up a D*A*M MKII Pro instead. The plain truth is that you are going to have a lot of trouble getting your hands on them and very few people (fwiw, none that I know of) own both to give a comparison. It might be worth pointing out that the Pro Analog MKIII has only 2 knobs, which is...let's say...very unusual. Like I said, I never got mine so I can't have anything to say about the build or sound. If Ted sells them and I happen to catch them in stock (or see one on eBay) I'll jump (maybe). Otherwise its not a situation I'm going to get involved with. |

Thank you, I have heard similar problems with the Pro Analog guy. I am trying to procure one through an established dealer, and they have paid for a rather large order that is very late in arriving. I am on the waiting list for a MKII or MKIII, but am not expecting one to ever arrive. I often wonder if he dosent actually have the chips to make the units.
I too really want a DAM MKII, but with the waiting lists closed, I dont know if I have a chance. I cant even get a return for his message board to post that I would like a used one. I am willing to pay market value. Should a MKIII really be a DAM 1966? At least I got on the Red Rooster list Thanks again. This message has been edited. Last edited by: thesjkexperience, |

be extra gentle when dealing with scotty and dont get anxious about the wait he will refund your money after youve waited a long time and leave you with nothing.

The D*A*M 1966 is a MKI clone. Dave does make a MKIII clone once in a while, but they're much more rare than the 1966 or the MKII Pro. It took me weeks and weeks of checking back on the D*A*M site to get on the 2nd MKII Pro list. The pedal is about 3 weeks overdue, but Dave doesn't take payment up front, so there really isn't any stress involved, just anticipation. With Scotty it was all stress. You could feel you were getting the run around, although in the end he did refund my money, so I have no complaint. It really is a shame because Scotty makes great pedals and is a nice enough guy. I sincerely hope he sorts it all out one day because I'd like to buy some of his wares! |

As it turns out I happened into a used MKIII for about $100 less than it would cost new. The few sound bites, and the clip on the FUZZ movie sound pretty good. The test, as always, is using it with my set up.
I am like a rat on a lever checking the DAM site, but I suspect that the lists wont open again for several months. I just wish I would get accepted to the DAM forum. I have happened into a bunch of Zeppelin soundboards, and the sound of the tonebender is haunting me. |

As well you should be! It took me a few months to get on the list and I'm still waiting a few months for delivery. In the meantime you might check out the Fulltone Soulbender. They can generally be had for about $200 or so on eBay. I also really like the MJM London Fuzz (Germ). To my ears it sounds like something in between a tonebender and a hot fuzzface. |

Thanks Cubba. I am going to see what chips are in that MKII before I leap, but it could be a good stop-gap while waiting for a DAM.
I have seen the Fulltone soulbenders go for over $275 on ebay. I have tried them out and while I liked it I didnt love it. But, most Fulltone products are that way. I do have an AM sunface regular and one hot. THe hot is the one I am using most these days along with my Beano Boost. |

What does it say inside that MKII--"made in Jesus Tommy's Mouth"? |

Why??? Is Scotty extra fragile or something?? You think he get a pass for taking money for a pedal he KNOWS he can't deliver?? |

I think he may be selling (collecting money) for pedals he doesn't have the chips for. That pedal linked above doesn't have anything close to the transistors that should be in a MKII. I think that may be why he is trying to sell everyone a MKIII.
I am excited to be getting a PA MKIII, and I think I am going to hold out for a D*A*M MKII. I missed the two I saw for sale. |
