I just got finished with the bio of Badfinger after loving them all my life. Whoa those guys got screwed every possible way a band, writer and publisher could get screwed including getting it from each other!!!! I love Pete's playing. Anyone know what tuning he was playing in for Baby BLue?

Agreed. Those poor bastards got the shaft from all directions. But they still managed to create some astounding power pop before they imploded.

Pete Ham and Joey Molland had some great guitar interplay going. And those incredible vocals!

Sorry I can't help you with any tuning info--I'm not aware of any special tuning he or Joey might have used. I've always played "Baby Blue" in standard (Strat to an AC30), and it sounds pretty damn close.

Give me great tone or give me deaf!

Yeah, love that duel guitar play! I will need a few months to shake off the anger at Molland after reading the book at what he did to the others. Yeah, i can pull of the guitar in the standard tuning too but i get a real sense that they were eorkinh in alternate tunings for MOST of their work..

Longtime Badfinger fan here. "BBC In Concert 1972-3" is an interesting listen; for a 'song band', those guys were fairly "jammy" back in the day!

They were huge Band fans too so the jammier side was showing thru in their live performances and according to the books i've read the technical problems with the keys made it hard to reproduce their sound on the records live so the stock covers and extended jams gave the guys time to shine both guitar and vocal wise. I have a stereo bootleg of all the BBC stuff that really shows them letting loose.
