I am in need of an amp and i would like a combo that is good for classic rock and blues as well as more heavier sounds. I would like to spend under $1200.

DO you want a amp for all of your dirt or just something that takes to pedals really well?

Personally I go for amps with a killer clean tone and season to taste.

So do you prefer Marshall Flavor or Fender Flavor?

If you like Marshall sounds, Budda is a great choice. If you prefer Fender, I'd check out the new Super Sonic. It's got a lot of good tones in it and can be had for around $1k. The Supersonic has some of the most useable OD tones I've ever heard in a Fender amp.

Another option in this price range is to score a 68-73 Super Reverb and have it blackfaced. You'll have a true BF Super Reverb without the high price tag.

I'd defintely try to find a Supersonic and check it out. I was pretty impressed with the one that I tried out.

The Super Reverb is probably one of the most pedal friendly amps you'll find. If you want to hear what a Super Reverb with pedals sounds like, check out my website at the bottom of my sig. If you go the music page, you'll find links to a couple of MP3's that were done with my 73 Super Reverb that's been Blackfaced and various combinations of pedals. Most of the cuts were done with a 90's Fulldrive II. Sometimes stacked with a Boss MD-2 or a Vox V847 Wah. The sounds quality isn't the greatest but you can get some ideas of what a Super Reverb can sound like. It can certainly do a lot more than just the SRV thing.

Good luck!

Black/silverface amps are pedal friendly in general, but they can be picky with certain fuzzes.

Generally true, though I would leave the Twin Reverb off the "pedal-friendly" list--at least if said pedals are overdrive/distortion/fuzz. I had a 1970 Twin Silverface that sounded like flaming red baboon ass with every dirt pedal I threw at it (and I threw them all).

Give me great tone or give me deaf!
