I have a picture wah, and while i like
the way it sounds I could use a little more range, anyone tried both of these and could help me out with a comparison? |

I owned a Wizard and now own a Picture. Both are good but in broad generalities the picture is better for clean funk and the Wizard better for heavy stuff imo.

I was about to pose the same question, because my Picture Wah was recently stolen.
Since I bought my PW three years ago, the Wizard has been introduced. So now I'm thinking, maybe this Wizard will be a good replacement and save me $60. The blurb on the Wizard touts the pedal as being suitable for all kinds of pickups, which appeals to me if it's true. I never tried my PW with anything but single coils but I recently had a Nash built with Lollar humbuckers. So I guess my dilemma is two-fold: 1) Does the Wiz really sound better with both buckers and singles than the PW? 2) Will I like the Wizard as much with my strats? In other words will I sacrifice anything by going for 'one size fits all'? Will I no longer being able to nail the tone from "Rainy Day Dream Away"? |
