I´ve just heard (and ordered) the Analogman Sunface (Normal NKT-275 and Sundial Knob)
Could other uses give some comments on this one while I´m waiting? |

I want one as well. But I hope I get a chance to try yours before I get one... |

Never had a pedal that cleans up so well with the volume pot on your guitar. If you are a player who rides his volume, this is for you.

I do ride the volume at all times. I have the OCD and it would not work without riding the volume.
I don´t know what Nanook rides but it might be better if he keep that to himself... |

I compared a lot of germ fuzzes at one time and Sunface was my favorite. It's on the smooth side, which I like. It just sounds very harmonious and "tuned". It convinced me that Analog Mike must have great ears to be able to make such a thing.

I own one exactly like yours and find it a great FF clone. Cleans up nicely and has a very nice voicing. It could use a bit more saturation to my ears but it is a fantastic fuzz.

I absolutely love the tones and versatility I get out of mine. As stated, rocks hard and cleans up very well.

Look at what the postman dropped off today!
I just got done playing this thing for about an hour and it freakin' rocks! I tried a friend's NKT-275 Sunface and I liked it a lot, great tone, but I remember wishing that it had a little more gain. I think the BC-108 is what I was looking for. It doesn't clean up quite as well as the NKT version but that is to be expected. Still, there are ample shades of fuzz available with the volume pot; you just can't get it dead clean like you can the NKT SF. |

Hi, I'm kinda ne to fuzzes and have been thinking about the sunface, can some one tell me like what song maybe would feature a tone like it? I'm kinda looking for a tone like on some Commodores records if anyone is familiar with that music

I don't recall the Commodores using much fuzz, but here's a demo on Youtube

jamie, when you're talking ge fuzz face songs. Hendrix Live at Monterrey Pop and Are You Experienced are examples (with loads of amp volume/studio effects added). I think Clapton's Woman Tone on "Sunshine of Your Love" might be ge fuzz. We're talking '60's.
I've noticed that '70's soul music in general seems utilize the more "out there" fuzzes like the Big Muff and the more obscure weirder ones. I can't think of a Commodores song either with fuzz, maybe you can link us to one. I'm from Alabama (Commodores formed as students at Tuskegee) and it intrigues me when guitarists are interested in that type of music, which is often not viewed as guitar-based-except for Funkadelic. |

Clapton swears, in an old GP interview, that his tone in Sunshine is his SG straight into a cranked 100 W Marshall, with everything on 10 except for the Tone control on the guitar rolled all the way back. |

Stormbringer, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case with Sunshine. I was kind of guessing based on the era, and the darkness and fatness of the tone.
I guess it was kind of loud in the studio that day. |

o.k I was thinking like the solo on the song "easy like a Sunday morning," is that what you would consider fuzz? Or maybe like the Isleys "who's that Lady?" I'm just starting to dig some fuzz tones. Also, Don't know if anyones seen the "Midnight Special" dvd's, I heard a great tone on Fleetwood Macs Rihanna, that was like a slightly overdriven fuzzy tone...

I think Ernie Isley used a Big Muff, but I'm no authority on that.

I am getting ready to order an Analogman Sun Face BC108 like yours. I have a question, what does the "sun dial" do on the silicon fuzz? I'm wondering if I really need the sun dial. I know it's a Bias adjustment for the germanium but don't know about the silicon.
Thanks! Jim
