I scored a first issue Small Stone on ebay and want to have some work done. Rebox, true-bypass, vol drop mod, etc. Who can work some mojo on these things? I have no idea where to even start looking.

I second that. I have a Small Stone I bought in the late '70s and a reissue Electric Mistress ,both with volume dropage and in need of true bypass.

By and far my favorite phaser, I'd like to have my Russian one given the full rebox/ TB / volume mod plus replace the colour switch with a pot and the thing would be perfect =>

Analogman will mod it for you.
I bought mine from him pre-modded and it is awesome. |

Small Stone is an awesome phaser.
It's got two modes on it that really open up possibilities and the tone is really deep overall. You could also put it and a little Danelectro graphic EQ pedal into a TBP as a shortcut. But by all means use it if it works for you. It's got some nice, resonant mojo. |

THE MAN to work on these pedals is Howard Davis, EE. Once the full-time engineer for EH and designer of some of their best pedals, now he does all kinds of mods on EH and other pedals, but especially EH stuff. I just sent him a '77 Electric Mistress for true bypassing, LED, fix the volume drop, align the trimpots, and cosmetic reconditioning (free w/ $50 of repairs). I already have a '78 Deluxe Electric Mistress that he reconditioned and it sounds amazing, is TB, LED etc.
