Anyone try the Radial DRAGSTER?
http://www.tonebone.com/tbone-dragster.htm This is supposed to restore guitar clarity when using a tone sucking wireless system or effects buffers that mess with your sound. It's a passive device that corrects loading and impedance. This is part of the circuit that's been used in the Radial JD7 box, and the SWITCHBONE. It's simple and cheap so is it too good to be true? Say it isn't so!!!! I want to use my tone sucking wireless system again - is this the affordable miracle I'm looking for? Anybody? |

Can't be much more than a basic buffer circuit.
No matter what you do, a wireless will never sound like a cord. Sometimes though, the "freedom" of a wireless will outwiegh the tonal suffering. Head |

quote: There's no tone suffering at all with the old XWire wireless system. .I've used it for a long time and you can a/b it all you want with a George L, or Planet Waves, or Whirlwind or whatever and it sounds PERFECT.. Every wireless is not the same ,and of course Vansevers cables aren't the same as George L's... .As for the dragster it's Denis' take on a buffer I'm sure, but with variable control.. I have his 7unit splitter and the Switchbone and the Drag works GREAT .. If this is just the Drag from those then it's well worth the money (of course unless you can just build the exact same thing! ) I didn't like the Axess Bs2 buffer much at all , but loads of people do.. I love the Radial drags ERIC |

Good luck and let us know! You're in Glens Falls huh? Just saw another guy from Burlington, VT last week here, and I'm about 20 miles from Burlington. IF I had lots more time in my life I'd say a group of us should get together and show and tell with our 'toyz' but I'm TOO busy these days to commit to more.. If you're ever in Rutland, VT we play there a lot and I'm playing this Friday nite there! Woopdido.. ...

For those interested, here's a response to my question from Radial:
Subject: RE: Dragster Reply-To: <paulblake@cabletek.ca> Hi Mark, The Dragster is not a buffer circuit. It is a load correction circuit that makes up for having your guitar go through a buffer. Regards Paul Blake Radial Custom Sales & Customer Service hey ericb What's your band called and where in Rutland do you play? |

quote: Hey there, thanks for posting the answer. To me, what I've learned after LOTS of trial and error is the only way you can tell if something's FOR YOU is to try it with your own gear. I dont' care if it's called a buffer, a fixer, a load correction, etc if it works it does , if not, not.. Ya know what I mean? Anyway, this current band (last 4 years or so ) is called TOAST and we're playing at Jilly's this friday nite, and we play at Sidelines too.. Jilly's is bigger and been better recently . Have you played in Rutland? Say hi, if by some random chance your'e there! ERIC |
