Sounds great D!
Nice to hear it plays as good as it looks.

Long story short I want a guitar with P-90s and you are just fanning the gas flames over here.

Hey thanks, Dos. I'll check out Ebay for NOS parts. I try to do a little guitar making so I'm pretty sure my copy is faithful. However, It's not Gibson NOS so that's probably something worth looking into.

By the way when you were talking about saddles I thought "what? Saddles? So I got a closeup of your pic. The original bridge for a '74 is a 'badass' bridge which is a simple bar that the strings wrap around with no saddles. Someone at some point put an aftermarket bridge with saddles on it. Which I also did. I ordered one from Stew-Mac. There's just too many intonation woes with those old bridges. So believe me your better off. If you take a look at Klasaine's axe you'll notice his has a bridge AND tune o matic saddles which means it's a '75 thru '79 make.
As for me, I'm for whatever makes them do what I want them to do. For me, they're a tool not a museum piece. I've got three LPs and this is my favorite! Have you tried that middle position clean with a little delay? Sweeeeet!!!

Hi Ken,
That's a cool ad! Never seen that one. Went to your myspace link. I really like your sound. Very nice lead work! Man, you are really involved! It looks and sounds like you are doing what you were meant to be doing.
I noticed one of your influences was Jackson Pollack. How so?
Regards, Axeman

Good question Axeman. And thank you for the kind words.

Pollack ... well you know, I'm really into art and for whatever reason, I just "get" him. Always have. Even before I knew anything about him. In fact, the whole 'American Abstract Expressionist' thing really speaks to me. I know it sounds kind corny but I hear music when I see his (as well as many others) paintings.

Maybe that's why I just "had" to buy that Landgraff?

Cool, it says Henri Selmer underneath it.. His saxophones are like the Strats, Les Pauls and Tele's of the sax world! Love my Series III Alto..

Damn, WHAT A DEAL!!! That is a guitar that i've been lusting after for quite a while. Especially the reissues w/ the wraptails.

What is the neck profile like? I've heard varied reports on these..

SCORE! What a nice guitar. Man, it's getting harder and harder to find those "Gems" nowadays. I think every pawn shop considers anything over 5 years old as "Vintage".

How are the neck and frets? Chunky? Slim? Tall frets? etc.

ha! well I think we all have permanent gas anyway Wink

I think mine is actually the double cut version of Klasaines - it says limited edition on the back of the headstock, and it has bridge/tailpiece.....
And Im going to bugger it a bit - I just got some custom split minis from Jason Lollar that are going in it - tho I will say the neck P90 on this is the best one Ive heard, I just want to try these mini hums in there since they are drop in replacements .....

I also like Pollack's work. You can trace his movements in the paint. That and his color choices can convey a wide range in expression. Kandinsky and Klee are some other favorites of mine. My degree is in art and I taught for quite a while. That's why it caught my eye.

My apologies for deviating from the thread.

I'm new to this site (and those similar) so here goes...I have this guitar as well (including identical case) and except for the tuners which are stock, it is the spitting image of mine. I bought it in '76 as a young man. I haden't done my homework, so I wasn't sure what I was buying at the time except a "Gibson Les Paul" that I knew was a lesser model but the price was decent. After doing a little research on the combination of the serial # and the "Made in USA" both stamped on the head stock, sounds like that's what I have so, thanks...up until now it's been kind of a mystery. Good to know the value as I plan on selling it one of these days as it has been sitting in the its case for most of its life. Bye for now
