i was trying to send you an email but i notice i can't select your username. i read where you raved about the tubester and i'm wondering if you still like/use it? you mentioned in one post how versatile it is. i definitely dig the thick sweet mid humped tone it gives, but i don't hear it having many variations on that theme. the voltage knob will saturate the heck out of the signal (which is pretty darn cool) but it saturates what ever the gain knob is set at (i put to around 3-4, anymore than that just gets buzzy *using an NOS AU7 and it has the silver wire option btw*). all the tone knob seems to do is make the signal hotter (though Don offered to check it out for/with me *he's way cool*), kinda gain and saturation at the same time, while adding only a little treble. it's not too transparent overall (and i know you value that).

have you switched from this one or do you still use it? so far i use mine as a second gain stage and to me it adds a thick saturated tone, but for a slight break up, i don't hear it and it's hard to get rid of the mid-hump.

the reason i ask is that i'm thinking about getting a bronto and using that for my slight break up and my varidrive as my second gain, it's definitely more transparent but not quite as easy to dial in as the tubester but it can get many different sounds. i might miss the tubester insta-sweet spot though, so i'd have to think about/listen to it a bit.

just wondering how you're using it these days? anyone for that matter...thanks!
