Here's mine! I thinks it's the best Muff type pedal I've ever owned! Lyle really has kicked ass with this! Does the Floyd thing wonderfully. Wink

DAM Ram.

It sounds just like my original from the 70s--the one I still have that still has the "Hobie Skateboards" sticker on it.

Give me great tone or give me deaf!

Another vote for the Green Russian Muff. Something about that pedal, it's...nastier than the NYC Muff I had and sits in the mix more prevalently. I hear that it is very close to the 'Civil War' muff and if so I would go for that one also. Earthquakes Devices Hoof is supposed to be a nice modern equivalent for the Green Russian, but have not tried it.

My mood determines which one goes to the gig with me...lately it's been none of them, but usually it's either the Triangle or Civil War..

Same here. I've had 3 and my fave sounding one thus far is the one I have. How fortuitous.

Although, my Psionic Audio 3.14 is also right up there and can be dialed in to sound quite close to the DAM Ram Head.

You know, I wouldn't get too caught up in having to have the Civil War model. The prices on those are really not that warranted in my opinion. One of those black "big box" ones on the bottom row of the pic sounds really similar to the Civil one I have. The green ones with the square font do as well, but have a little more top end sizzle. The big box black ones are the best deals right now I think as far as price/performance.

Haha, yes, you are right about getting caught up... I get bit too crazy about pedals sometimes.. I been thinking about getting one of those cheaper Big Black box Muff and having it modded...
but all in reality... I should just be happy with Mayo...
however...
I got Skredy's Zero today... tried it out for a short while... it has little more split end sizzle on the high end ...and more volume than Mayo...
I like it...

Questions like . . . what is YOUR favorite MUFF or favorite fuzz.. are just impossible to answer for me...

For raw, with more mids, I like the Sweetsound.

For fat, smooth, lush, scooped, I like J. Everman Ultradrive or the new Little Big Muff.

Never tried a real EH vintage muff.
