Motion Sound SR-112

I finally had a chance to play one yesterday at a local shop. If you've never experienced a true rotating speaker (I know, it's a baffle that rotates not the speaker) there's a three dimensional quality to the sound no pedal can fully duplicate - not even in stereo. The unit has controls for base speed (slow chorus like setting) and high speed (Cold Shot) and ramp acceleration (how quickly it ramps up/down between the two). All this, plus the bypass (to your amps normal speaker) are footswitchable. I was only able to play it a talking volume, and standing right above it, but the tone, Tone, TONE! No pedal can duplicate that. The tone is closer to the Leslie 16/18 (Fender Vibratone) which were made for guitar, rather than say the Leslie 122 which was made for organ but often modified for guitar use. Anyway, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this:

There have been some concerns about the construction on these, and I wouldn't want to take it on the road without a heavy duty case. But as long as mine arrives ok, I've already got the corner in church ear marked where she will reside safe and sound.

So many pedals, so little time...

I played through a real leslie at a buddy's place, and I brought mydunlop Univibe to hear the difference. Pretty funny how different they sound, but for the difference, a Univibe is still a cool sound. Gotta love the Fender Rhodes and B3 players -the world needs more of them!

How do you set it up ? Guitar-Amp-Motion Sound-Cab ?

The footswitch couldn't be found so I tested it out this way:
Strat -> Fender Deluxe Reverb RI -> Speaker out (I disconected the internal speaker) -> Motion Sound. I could't foot switch between the slow/fast settings, but I could twirl the knob to get a feel for what this would be like - most cool!

The normal setup is like this:
Amp -> Motion Sound -> Normal Speaker. You can then footswitch between the Motion Sound and your amp's normal speaker.
