Does anyone have experience with these? Is the Distortion III the same as the + with a tone control, or are they completely different animals?

I have no experience with the III, but i believe it's a completely different animal. I could be wrong.

The + on the other hand, is about the only piece of gear i could almost call myself an expert on. I've owned 5 now, and currently am using a late block-type non-led version, i believe from '81. I've enjoyed all the older one's i've tried, but i find the current reissues very thin and fizzy, instead of the germanium rip of the older ones.

the III is more of and OD/Distortion. Not as hairy and a lot more tame. I like it!!
