Well, I just went out and bought a D-16 (the store's old demo unit) and two mics (an SM-57 and a 58). Also an old Alesis SR-16 drum machine (but forgot to get midi cables to sync it with the D-16 - if that's even possible).

It was a long day, I spent too much money and I'm beat. Just about to crack my second beer and I'm surfing the net 'cause I don't feel like dealing with manuals or any kind of mental work right now. (big sigh).
