I am in a band and we are gonna be recording our second album later this year and the writing has already began. I was wondering if anybody knows if any pedal companies that are into endorsing and would like to endorse me for the recording of my second album if i ask them. Probably not but it was worth a shot. I'm looking for some "crazy" pedals (as i call 'em) like.

Chorus
Flanger
Phaser
Ring Modulator
Envilope Filter
Delay
Tremolo
Reverb
Pitch Shifter
other...
any pedal thats not a distortion, i got too many more than i need.
I am currently working on a police siren pedal.

and the second part is does anybody name their pedals other names than the originals?
I taped the knobs in fixed settings and put macking tape over the names and labeled them in black marker.
for example:
here is a list of the real pedal names.
Boss DS-1 Distortion
Boss BD-2 Blues Driver
Boss BF-2 Flanger
Boss PH-2 Super Phaser
Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble
Ibanez DL-10 Digital Delay (vintage)

my names

Hard Dist.
Light dist.
Vibrate
Woosh
Nirvana
Heaven

I also own a Danelectro Fab Tone and a Cry Baby wah these pedals i don't like.

Although he is spot on, let me be more diplomatic than Uncle. It might not actually be impossible to get yourself sponsored. MIGHT. I knew a guy who was going to do a bike trek through India, wrote to some bicycle and treking equipment manufactures, and received substantial equipment. I couldn't believe it, but it's a true story. When I was in college, my roomate was part of an [undergrad] engineering team building a solar powered "car" for some national competition. Just a bunch of nobody kids, but some of the local aerospace firms came through with parts when they were contacted.

Myself, I was a business major. You probably don't need to be a business major, however, to realise that... Oh boy! Look, why would anybody sponser you - you don't get something for nothing. The minimum, MINIMUM, you could do for the company would be to not cover up their pedal's names and labels with "macking" tape and re-label them with your own names! Come on, guy. If you're gonna do it anyways, at least don't put that information in the same post!!!

Good Luck

My nephew's guitar teacher wrote letters to several companies, soliciting endorsement deals. He mentioned the names of the companies that he made deals with on the cover of his CD. I think the type of deals he got were really good discounts, rather than totally FREE gear.

Like SouthPhoenixDave wrote anytime I or anyone I have known were approaced for endorsment, it was just a discount. Anything from 25% to 75% off list plus shipping cause it had to come dirictly from the company. It really wasn't that great of a deal. I could have gotten better prices at Guitar Centers "once in a lifetime grenn, red, blue tag" bimonthly sales.
It is much more of a sales pitch than an endorsement deal.

Good luck with your efforts

Jal

I think I'll put "Card between bicycle spokes" on my Big Muff.

Duders, you think they'll give me an endorsement? My band has a CD out (okay, we burned it on my PC but still!).
