Sorry if this guy is old news to you but I can't help but get inspired by his tone and dynamics....just re-affirms my love of single coil pick-ups.

Enjoy!!

That intro song is just TOO cheesy.. But I guess I'm more into a.. less 'perfect' tone.

very nice player that likes lots of gain and effects...always sounds a bit...thin compressed and far away to me and I've been listening to him demo H&K amps at Musik Messe since 1997...I think he really doesn't need all that but uses them anyway...I would love to hear him plug straight into a vintage Fender combo or an old Marshall 1/2 stack and see what happens...

Thanks for posting those great clips!!

I was a little disappointed when I saw Doyle Bramhall II on tour with EC last year so this clip is a great reminder of how cool Doyle's Strat tone is...his singing's always been great.

Love the Jimmy Lee vaughan clip...when you got tone like that, when it comes to licks, less is always better than more!!

I'll be real glad if this thread becomes a celebration of Strat/sinlge coil tones!

Have always loved Knopfler's clean "out-of-phase" Strat tone...I just don't have the technique to carry it off.

Whle we're at it, just wanted to post a clip from an Aussie Strat icon, Ian Moss. He is the reason I started playing in the first place. I remember sneaking into pub shows underage and watching his every move. Sobering thing is, some 27 years later, there's so many things he can do with his Strat that I'll never be able to do.Frown

I can't watch youtube now, but I assume it is Thomas Blug in that video?

I have seen Thomas Blug at H&K Clinic at Musi Schmidt. He was presenting new Statesman amps. IMO he is good, he was really sounding nice. Only what he used was a delay, but not always on.
