i just wanted to follow-up the fender replacement neck discussion from early july, but
of course the search function came up with nothing.i was considering buying a new neck for
my copper-finish '52 reissue tele.i checked out
the forum fave uscg(?), & warmoth.i wanted a vintage tele neck,nothing to spec'd out.warmoth
had just what i wanted, finished for $50-60 less.
so i ordered a "total vintage construction" tele
neck.7 1/4" radious,boatneck,w/ 6105 frets.flame
maple w/a gloss finish,& a vintage yellow tint.
when i ordered it on july 1,i was told it would take longer than usual-they had some big orders
placed by some guitar makers.no problem.they
said the end of aug. the first week of aug. they called & said it would take longer,do i want to bail?if i wanted flame instead of plain maple it might take longer.the first of sept. they called & said that someone cancelled an order & they had a real nice flame maple neck,&
if i want it i could have it finished by the end of sept.-or start of oct.i received 2 e-mails telling me the progress & i received the
neck fri.it is beautiful.looks & feels great.i
hope to have it installed this weekend.
i just wanted to tell how great warmoth was.there was some negative comments made about them in the past,so i wanted to share my experience.they warned me it would take longer
than normal, gave me opportunities to cancel my
order & kept me up to date. i received @ a great
price, exactly what i expected from their descriptions.the neck is perfect, well made,& feels great.the finish is also first rate.i am
very satisfied,& extremely happy.i'm sure uscg is good company also, but i have no problem
reccomending warmoth.

I love warmoth. Great quality tonewoods and excellent craftmanship.
I usually get stuff from the showcase section...gets faster that way. There's always something sweet in there if you look.
Next up: Flame Koa Hollow Tele body!

"-B-But, you have perfect MCAT scores...?!
-Yeah...Just 'cause you're hung like a moose doesn't mean you gotta do porn!"

I've had nothing but great customer service and great products from Warmoth. I've yet to buy anything from USACG, but have heard great things about them. I like the fact they offer oversize necks, you can prety much get anything you want - but then who was here who bought one of there necks and had alignment and fret problems?

So many pedals, so little time...

Both Warmoth and USACG are doing some pretty unique things. I like both companies for different reasons. Obviously, wha you can't get at one place, the other can probably do for you. I got me a sweet Musiclander body from Warmoth, which is totally cool cuz it's 25.5" scale when the real ones in the 60's were 24" and they added Jag-Stang bodies a couple years ago. Kinda fun that they offer the oddball designs I think.
