I'm thinking of popping in some P-rails and maybe some lipsticks and fancy wiring (what else you gonna do with p-rails?) into my trusty Reverend Commando GT, but I'm concerned with possible future resale value. This one was made in the US and it's an absolutely fantastic instrument, so I've always thought that maybe someday there would be a big run on 'vintage' Rev's from the early '00s. Needless to say, pop in something else and that would be lost completely. Do you guys think I should just modify the thing as probably noone else will want it in the future or just keep it in this state?

Keep the original stuff and try and make it reversable to the original state it was in. That way you can always go back and resale it as it was when you got it.

If your mod can't allow for that... well consider if you want a player or something to sell to get to what you really want... I never had a problem with modding a guitar and these days you can sell the parts easely also. Whereas in the past there it wasn't as easy to sell parts.

I'd take the opposite tack--if it's not a direct, drop-in replacement my tendency would be to look for another guitar that had the features I wanted instead of modding one of my existing axes. But I'm not much of a do-it-yourselfer.
