Hey Guys (Midwesters... Wink)
I'm going to Milwaukee/ Waukesha for technical training (jobwise) from 7th to 18th of May. Of course I'm interested to go out and see some good bands there or find jam places. Maybe some of you guys have suggestions or know about upcoming concerts in this area? I heard that Robert Cray will be at the Potawatomi Bingo Hall on 18th. Cool - never saw him yet! But I want to see/ hear more coz I have plenty of time in the evenings Smile

Thanx in advance for any suggestions!

If you get the chance go over to Dave's Guitars in La Crosse, awesome shop with some of the best Les Paul and Strats I've ever seen.

I've lived in the Milwaukee area for the last 6 years and work in Waukesha. There's a jam just about every weeknight of the week somewhere in Milwaukee. There are a ton of good live music clubs to check out, too.

Too bad your not going to be here on May 6th, you could come and see my band perform Big Grin.

For a list of Milwaukee area clubs, check here

Feel free to drop me an email or reply with what you might be looking for. If my wife and 3 month old daughter are amenable, maybe I can join you for a night.

Peace

Hi Sunburst59, yeah I already found this shop in the net - cause they carry Evidence cables Wink. If I have time I'll gonna check it out.

Thanx for your input, bluesaxe. Hey, really too bad that I cannot see your band on the 6th. Just checked out your bandpage - looks/ sounds interesting! Cool mp3's, man!

Good to have the sheperd link (forgot about that; my last trip to MKE was more than 1 year ago). I remember a magazine "Onion" (or so) too... So I think I will find some venues. I was just curious if some of the real BIG acts/guys are around at this time...

I'll take your mail adress with me so maybe there is a chance to meet once? BTW: I've learned a new word - amenable Big Grin I really like that and the meaning is totally right for the "small family situation", especially when there's an almost newborn child Smile. Adalia looks so beautiful - late congrats!

Thanks for the feedback on the band! This band is more of a hobby for me right now, with the new baby and all. The music on the website was recorded about 6 months ago in my basement 2 track straight to laptop. It was pretty messed up and required a lot of fixin to make it sound anywhere close to decent.

Maybe if you come this way we could make a pilgrimage to Dave's Guitar shop. I've never managed to get over there (it's about 4 hours from Milwaukee), but I'd certainly love to visit it sometime. ...yes honey, I'll leave my wallet at home Roll Eyes

I'll try to pick up a copy of the Shepherd Express this week. They list pretty much every show going on in the area. I'm not sure all the same information is on the website.

If you send me an email at dave@dbcollective.org I can give you a phone number to reach me.
