This doesn't really belong in the pedals section.

A shuffle is what you hear in a country song's drum beat.

I believe when you hear someone refer to 'hybrid picking', they mean picking notes with both a pick (plectrum, usually between thumb and index finger, sometimes called flatpicking) AND picking other notes on the other strings with 2 or 3 of your remaining fingers at the same or time. In other words, a technique that is a 'hybrid' between fingerstyle and flatpicking.

The 'feel' thing is something you usually read as a notation up at the begining of a piece of sheet music, possibly next to other information about note value or beats per minute, etc. Sheet music is limited in its ability to convey some kinds of rhythmic information, so, if some type of rhythm is required that is hard or impossible to properly and clearly notate, the person will just come out and write it in plain ol' English.

For example, the writer is telling you, the reader, "Sure, the time signature says 4/4 (or whatever), but when you play it, make sure it feels like a shuffle". Sounds like you're looking at some country sheet music. Listen to those songs and other shuffles (sometimes easy to identify by the word "shuffle" in the title) or halftime songs, and get an idea of how the rhythm feels, then try to duplicate that feel (speed, rythmic accents, etc.).

You'll know you got it right if people who like country music can't resist bobbing their bodies in semi-dance like motions when they hear you play. If two people actually leap up from their seats and start really cutting a rug, well then baby, you GOTS that feel!!!

BTW, I'm no big expert on this stuff. I hope this was helpful and I'm not just talking out my ass!

The song " Kansas City " is a shuffle , so is " Pride & Joy " . An older style Jazz / blues .

1/2 time feel - seems twice as slow .

Dbl time feel - twice as fast .

The key word here is " feel " . The time doesn't actually go any faster or slower you just turn the quater notes into half notes or eighth notes respectively . Also , the bar stucture stays the same . Hope this helps .
