The footswitch on my Eternity died and I haven’t had a chance to replace it yet so I swapped in a few different pedals to try (not sure the E will go back on the board when I’m done or not!)
Hermida Mosferatu – Dang this is a sleeper pedal. It’s maybe a tad trickier to dial in the some, and the sweet spot is smaller that with other pedals but when you find it dang this pedal is fun! Smoldering medium/high gain tones that just want to slip into feedback. Wampler Pinnacle 2 – Another fun pedal, and not to dissimilar from the Mosferatu with its tone/contour controls as opposed to the Mosferatu’s tone/voice controls. Like the Mosferatu the sweet spot is kind of small, but worth it to find. And like another poster had mentioned the change in tone between the boosted and non-boosted tone is too great to be of use. I just leave the boost on and dial it in from there. Man oh man does this thing just want to rawk! Barber Small Fry – I’ve had this pedal for years and I can’t believe it’s not on my board – well it is now and I don’t think it will be leaving! I plugged this baby in and was immediately greeted with a smooth tone that just put a smile on my face and had me not wanting to turn the pedal off! I originally had the tone around 10 o’clock or so and it was just a warm, smooth lead tone, just sweet, but I also found myself getting lost in the mix. I ended up with the tone around 2 o’clock or so and was able to cut through, but it was still nice and smooth. I found myself wanting to go back (and go back and go back) to this pedal. Can’t wait for rehearsal tonight so I can riff some more with it. So many pedals, so little time... |

I'm with you on the Mosferatu. I don't quite know what to do with it, but it's a damn nice pedal. I've been looking at the Small Fry for months now, too--glad to hear you like yours. I've never been disappointed by a Barber product.
