Has anybody tried one of these yet, my keyboard player has one and says he can't live without it. It's a CD player that can slow a song down 50% and keeps the same pitch, You can loop a passage and play it back over and over again. It has built in effects for when you want to plug in and play along with the CD. I'm jonesing for one real bad, seems like a useful tool for figuring out songs.

best song learning contraption I ever bought. Only wish it had a balance knob, but you can take the stereo out to a mixer and plug phones into mixer and pan l/r if you really need to. Most of the time I just live with it as is with phones into it.

I use a software program called Slowgold. It's cheaper and much more flexible in learning songs. You can set up loop points and it remembers those points each time you bring up that song.

I downloaded the free version of slogold and gave it a try last night and for 49.99 as opposed to 149.00 I think I'll go for the gold. Thanks for the tip.
