3333 euros!! How much would that be in US dollars!!??

Beautiful guitar, tho. That's exactly the LP i wanted for the longest time. Dead ringer for the one Stone Gossard used in the early Pearl Jam years, which is what made me pick up a guitar in the first place. Ahh, to be 12 years old again.....

Enjoy

cheers

Guys, you got it easy in the Northern hemisphere.

With taxes and all, a new 58 VOS Les Paul in Brazil is going for at least USD 10,000.00...

Beautiful guitar Seegs. If I had that guitar, it would probably become a daily obsession just to pick it up and play. It looks like it's beggin' to be played.

Thanx guys...that was the original intent behind this thread...to share the joy I had when I discoverd that I like Les Pauls and then again when I found this instrument...it wasn't suposed to be about money...

I had a quick play today and I was really surprised that I didn't hate the burstbuckers...secondly when I strike the low E I can hear is resonating and sustaining for what seems like an eternity...it was at least 2 minutes...amazing sustain and body...

more details later...

Seegs

I'm so looking forward to hearing that R8!!!

Tonewolf,
Amp-wise I got some great tone with my LP into a Germino Classic 45 (JTM45 type). My Komet is great as well (if you like to use the guitar volume you can do the clean to mean thing very well).

As Seegs knows, his Fargen Dual Classic was the amp that first got me into clean Les Paul tones. A Blackface tyle circuit and a Les Paul is a great tone to me. If you can get the neck pickup of your LP to sound solid on the low strings - like a BIG piano - then its such a cool tone.

My Fargen is the same circuit as Seegs but has different cab dimensions... I'm still tweaking the speakers to get things into that area, but when I do... Wink

Other amps that are cool? EL84s (I had a Bad Cat Cub) can sound groovy for crunch tones but can also mush out with more gain if you're not careful.

Last but not least - my Orange is brilliant with a Les Paul, thick and chewy with lots of punch.

Chris

Forgot to mention pedals...

Amp-wise I found the Germino and the Orange to be great platforms, the Komet ocassionally finnicky and the EL84 amps the most picky.

Pedals I like with Les Pauls? Treble boosters into British amps. The Okko Diablo is great with my LP, Landgraffs (LDO & MOD) sound great. The Skreddy Screwdriver...

amps are kinda of a mixed bag...with the bridge pup I find crunchier amps are cool...there were some nice tones with the amps Chrissy mentioned and Lensmans tweeds...on the neck pup those amps tended to mush out too much and didn't have enough sparkle or piano on the bass strings...I didn't care for the tones...for neck pups headroom is king...more the better...my rule of thumb for an all around LP amp sound...if it works on a neck pup then it will also work with the bridge pup...my Fargen does this well as long as the right speakers are in the amp...

pedals were the MO'D...Skreddy Screwdriver...Klon and the Hartman 8VA...the Proanalog Powerdriver also had some good tones avaliable...

Chow,
Seegs
