I've been having a lot of fun lately running through these Dr. Z amps. Using these is akin to using a Vox AC-30 and an old blackface Fender together. Very sweet. Finally got a couple of pix of them together, so I had to post.

How's that EGZ-50? If I didn't just buy the Deluxe, this would have been the next amp on my list. The clips I have heard are as blackface as you can get!

I like it. It's hard to describe the tone. It has a wonderful reverb, with a pre- and post- fader. The volume controls are pre- and post- as well, so one can dial in just a hint of 'dirty' at a lower volume; or go the opposite way with an extremely clean sound. It's a pretty darned clean affair overall, with good control over the treble, mid and bass. It's a 50W 6L6 design, and uses NOS Allen-Bradley composition resistors with a specially designed transformer from Ken Fisher.

The two amps compliment each other well.

Well, if I actually change my log-in name, I'll probably forget and screw things up. I just use the Z in my sig instead (easier for an old fart to deal with!)...
I keep shredding those AARP letters I get off and on. I refuse to grow up...
