I just looked at www.fulltone.com and there is an update on the Distortion Pro. Says they will ship November 15th. We'll see if it's worth the wait.

It appears that the fabled Distortion Pro is once again slated for fruition.
The only dedicated "distortion" box I recall ever playing through is the ol' orange BOSS stomper and that was probably twenty years ago.
Would some helpful and knowledgeable soul kindly point out notable recordings featuring tones generated by "distortion" boxes, per se, as opposed to those created by fuzz, OD, or boost?
We don't have the benefit of having actually heard the DP and it appears that Fuller's changed horses along the way... Would anyone care to speculate on what bag Mike's coming out of here, based on information currently available? Can you draw any parallels to other boxes currently or previously available?
I'm like most other folks here... I just wanna hear the dang thang.

Some of the clips on his site are of him using the prototype/s; I think one is a live 'Bridge of Sighs'; which sounded good.
I think it started out as a tube-based pedal and changed from there..
I use a DS-1, but would be game for something that could be more fine-tuned eq wise. The DS-1 gets a tad bit muffled sounding in comparison to my 'straight' tone when the tone control is rolled back enough to be fat and not squawky & tinny-other than that is about perfect for me. Works as boost or gained out, isn;t weird about any particular frequency, cleans up and is cheap.
