Personally, I much prefer phasers over choruses. You can get a close univibe tone if the phase causes a bit of pitch modulation. (they're not supposed to do this, but some like the bad stone do. Others like the phase II don't) It can be a more subtle effect to mess with the spacialization of the guitar, or it can be used for sci-fi type sounds. For chorus.... I prefer to use a modulated delay, or a whammy bar with a delay. Chorus can be a very cool effect though... I like it especially when I hear it in soul tunes etc. But with my set-up, I feel I can get by without one.

I guess I like phasers better, but not when I want a chorus tone.
