good move, you'll love it. right now i'm using standard tuning and i'm finding my intervals and partials are dead on. what a pleasure to use after all the others i've tried. now i just have to get the rest of the band to get em. mine is last in the chain before the amp and set to TB.

Exactly the same response I was going to give.

When I had my VS1, the manual said to use your neck pickup and turn the volume to about 3. I like to put the tuner first for the least crap in front of it.

I put mine before the other pedals. That way if I find the need to tune in the middle of a song where I'm using any of the other pedals I can hit the switch on the Peterson and tune without having to turn off the other pedals to get an acurate reading.

Strobo is the first pedal on my board. I use the Feiten tuning and that works great for me - better than the "sweetened" tuning mode, although I think we are probably splitting a few hairs on this one. The "sweetened" tuning has offsets that are designed to maximize the tuning of 4th and 5th intervals. If you play alot of barre chords or drop D tunings, this may be a be a better choice for you. We all play those intervals, but I don't use alot of big barre chord shapes. The Feiten tuning is designed to provide better tuning too, but it is not focused on specific intervals. I think the best choice for an individual is more dependent on their chord voicing preferences. Again, I don't think the difference between them is huge though.

TD, I've got a strobostomp and have been curious about using the Feiten tuning setting. I'm terrible with setups, doing intonation, etc. I usually take my guitars into the shop every few months to get setup (pathetic, I know...) Can you ue the Feiten tunings without setting the intonation with the Feiten tunings, or does that make no sense?

Soundhound: Why don't you give me a number where I can reach you at home later? Maybe I can help you with the whole setup issue and we can discuss the Feiten tuning/offset thing while we're at it! email me at: BReuschling@msn.com and let me know when would be a good time to try to reach you (I'm on the East Coast).

I use the Peterson VS-1 stand-up tuner. I believe it operates on the same principle. All I do is turn it on and tune away. It is a very precise instrument, and works very well for me, on stage and off. Hope you enjoy your Stobostomp. Mesadude
