Ok so after auditioning all my gear with my band over the last 6 months this is what I ended up with. Thanx to Mario at Axess electronics, Bob Sweet and BJ for excellent support, and to you guys for the always fruitful discussions on pedals.

It works and sounds great, except for the DD6 (I'm looking for something else for the delay spot).

Gluke - that looks really nice. So tell me, are you just doing on/off switching with the Axess or have you set up patches with combination sounds.

You can have 3 presets per bank plus a global right?

Tell me more. Smile

What do Y wanna know?

The small Axess controller only does presets, so no direct control. So yeah, I have banks of 3 presets + the global preset (which at the moment is everything off). The wah and tuner are true bypass and are not controlled by the switcher. SO no tapdancing nessesary.

All cables are Belden 8413, cut to length and soldered to Neutrik and (I think) switchcraft plugs. All 9V cables are also cut to length and all the cables are strapped to cable tie bases. gear is held firmly in place by 3M dual lock (that stuff works, I can hold it upside down and shake it withough anything falling off).

I'm not using any buffers anywhere. I tried, but prefer the tone and feel unbuffered. I'm going for a vintage thang. This all goes straight into my homemade PTP '65 plexi 50w.

Thanks Gluke - so you're going wah > Strobo > input of looper, correct?

jupp, it was sort of dictated by the placement. The signal is:

wah
Tuner
GRX4
Loop 1 = TS9
Loop 2 = CAF
Loop 3 = Mojo
Loop 4 = DD

I kept the wah to the far right to escape it picking up noice from the PP. Any closer and it starts humming.

I love the Axess MFC5 -- it really fills a need for a compact MIDI switcher between the (also cool) basic MIDImouse and the big MIDI foot controllers. Mario makes good stuff.

I use my MFC5 to switch presets on a Rocktron Patchmate, which switches my Echo Pro and Mod Pro in and out of the chain. So my presets are: Echo On, Mod On, Both On, and the global preset = Bypass All. I work in my studio, so that's all I really need -- if I were playing live, I'd probably set up banks of program changes in the Line6 units.

he he, you guys are so right, but once I get it out of the house and over to our rehersal space it pretty much stays the same. If I change the Boss it's gonna be for a similar size pedal that'll just swap into the same spot. There is just this nasty digital trebly sound going on in the DD5 that just doesn't work for me.

I start working on something else instead. A new rack or new amp or something. I have already started modding my PTP 2 channel pre amp.

Very nice board, Gluke! The Axxess sounds like a cool device - I'm going to have to check that out a little further!

this fellow is on the right track. nice board, gluke! you're doing pretty much the same thing as me. i'm a little behind you in my "final" setup, however, just waiting for a few remaining pieces to fall into place. bravo to the use of axess gear, it's really top quality stuff.

when setting up any midi switching gadgetry, it's best to have as much as possible on hand when programming it, otherwise you're just creating a lot of extra work for yourself when things are unstable and constantly undergoing drastic changes.

Same here!

Are you are using it to avoid the buffer of the TS9 and the delay?
What if you want to use more than one pedal at a time? How do you do that with the Axxess?

I can use that for my Rotosphere as that thing sux tone for sure but is,without a doubt, the best Leslie simulator out there.

1) Yes the GRX4 is relay based so everything is true bypassed when off.

2) The little thing next to the strobostomp is the Axess MFC5 programmable midi controller. I can store as many combinations of the four pedals as I want. The three bottom buttons are presets button 1-3 and the two on top is bank up/down. In addition there is a global preset that i activated when you press an already active preset button (I have that set up for everything bypassed).

cerebralpaul - thanx for tip on the DD6. That one looks really interesting, I'm a bit conserned with the dry signal when the pedals is on though. Is that better than on the dd5?
