I remember one of you guys had an Edwards JP Les Paul copy... I was wondering if you still have it and if so how do you feel about it post-honeymoon? Thanks,
I think there's about 3 of us that have owned them, myself being one. The other two guys had the Jimmy Page relic model, where mine was a nice shiny new un-reliced LP copy. I had mine for over a year.
For the money I thought it was absolutely fantastic. I don't own it anymore because I just don't like single cut guitars - thumb leverage for me when playing on the upper frets is a must-have. Otherwise, I'm quite certain I would still own it. Wonderful guitar.
Hey Med, I still have my JP model and I've added the "Oxblood" (ok it's kinda purple) model to the Edwards line up as well. They really are spectacular guitars, much lighter than most Gibbys and variants you'll play. Very resonant as well. The JP is stock with excellent sounding Seymour Duncan pickups, the Ox has Wolfetone Marshallheads pickups which are some of the best I've ever had in a guitar. They have both become my #1 practice/gig/go to guitars. I know everyone has their own personal taste of what a 'perfect guitar' is, but these come awfully close for me personally!!
I'm the other vato that has one. Let me tell you something, "Stay away from Edwards guitars!!!!" I'm just saying that, because they are F*cking awesome...I want to buy more. The JP is really really good, and IMO up to par with US custom shops at a 1/6 of the price. Yeah, I said it! Actually, Gibson dealers here seem to think so as well. Mine weighs less than 8 pounds, and like Willie said great resonance. The only complaint I have is the the neck is somewhere between the '59 profile and the 60s profile. I hate the 60s profile, and much prefer the fat '59 '58 neck. Most people will love this neck profile though. Another thing, I might change the bridge pickup. I like it, but not in love with it. It's a Seymour Duncan Custom BTW, and mids are kinda scooped to my ears. Output is a little to high for me as well. These are really minor though. It still is f*ucking solid.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I've been checking them out lately online and gassing pretty hard. My LP classic sadly isn't getting much use and you guys actually touched on what I was wondering abut which was the neck. I was hoping they leaned towards a 59 in that department. Well, that does it. I think there's one in my future... Thanks again...

Yes, the neck leans more towards a '59 profile. It has some heft, but not that baseball bat feel if you know what I mean. C profile. Fret work is typical of all Japanese made guitars...flawless.
Hendrix Freak had a JP relic. I must say the relic looked a little too painted on. BUT it played like a dream. I wnat one He sold it, of course as he is wont to do!
I've had mine for about 1.5 years...and it plays very fast and absolutely rocks. All kinds of tones available, of course. The neck on mine is '60s slimmish, great for my smaller hands. I think all the necks are on the slimmer side, and this might be problematic for someone with large hands. IDK.
I love mine and so does everyone who hears / plays it.

My guess is Teddy would be slapped with a case from Gibson right quick if he did, just like with the Tokai guitars. AFAIK you have to buy them from a Japanese dealer.
