Why dont you go to the http://foxroxelectronics.com/
website and check out the info fox has on the unit. It cost 40 dollars and ive had it done to both of my wahs, the rmc-1 teese wah sounds the best, it didnt change the tone. It did add a boost if you set the trim pot that way. Its main purpose is to allow you to put your wah in front of a fuzz face or fuzz face type clone . So you get the wah sound cutting through the fuzz for that nasty nasal , vowl sound. Like I said check the web site. ..........tron |

?NO I think you misunderstood, the mod has a trim pot , if youve been to the fox site youll see its the white and blue thing on the end, which accepts a standard screwdriver head.
Anyhow it can be adjusted to deliver no boost , some boost or less boost than the rmc had stock. I know what you mean about the boost on the rmc-1 which is the wah i had moded. But by turning down the boost effect of the mod you can acheive gain unity. meaning that how ever loud or distoted ,or clean your guitar siginal was without the wah activated, the signal will be the same with the wah activated, I recomend the mod if you use fuzz or have difficulty getting your wah to work in front if distortion. Even if you dont , it will sound better in front of distortion with the mod. There will be no other noticable changes in tone it will be the same tone wise as befor the mod........hope this helps tron |

I purchased the retrofit buffer thingy & installed it in an MXR sized box. That way I can use any wah pedal with it, & keep the pedals in unaltered condition. I've tested it with my RMC1 & a CryBaby with a Clyde pot & a true bypass switch. I haven't adjusted the volume trimpot. The buffer allows the full range of the wah to be heard, just like Dave Fox said. I tested it into my Austone Fuzz Nutz, which is a silicon fuzz. The cool thing is that Dave Fox offered suggestions on how to build it into a separate box, instead of insisting that it be installed into a wah pedal. He even tested a buffer with different value capacitors & resistors to see if that would be helpful, while my unit was in transit. The reason for that concern was that it's not designed to come after a switch & there was a chance it would make that popping sound. I put a low value, like 100 or 150 ohm resistor on the input & haven't had any trouble with popping. This was my first dealing with Dave Fox & he was great in the customer service area.

Hey there -
After all the fine festivities that went on last night in this forum, I thought now would a good time to add some "user comments" to my web site. These are real emails, from real people. SPDave - yours should look familiar! Happy reading! Wah retrofit comments: http://www.foxroxelectronics.com/FWR%20User%20comments.html CC2 comments: http://www.foxroxelectronics.com/CC2%20User%20comments.html At this point, I think I'll make my way back over to the HC forum. I could build you the box, & install the unit for you. It would probably be best if you actually purchased the unit from Dave Fox directly, rather than me buying one then reselling it to you. I don't want to step on his toes in any way. I don't think there'd be any ethical problem doing it that way.

HEY DAVE FOX, about last night...
In retrospect, I realize my nonsensical comments from the vanished Cap'n Coconut thread could have been taken either way. For what it's worth, here it is... I saw things startin' to get ugly and decided it was my job to try and lighten things up. I guess I was the guy in high school always tryin' to break up a fight and wound up gettin sucker punched... The thing that really pissed me off was that it was yet another case of a heated and interesting discussion about a PRODUCT that became a heated and completely disinteresting mud slinging fest about PEOPLE. To be fair, some folks managed to remain objective and constructive in their comments, positive or negative, and that's cool. But there are debates and arguments and then there's wallowing around in the mud. By the time it got to that stage, I was quite relieved to read a review about shoes! I thought that was pretty funny, actually... Anyway, sorry you had a rough ride. Understand that the vast majority of guys like us appreciate what guys like you do. Not kissin' ass, that's just the way I see it. $.02 **************************************************** I had been debating the Foxrox wah mods previously, and with recent info on these pages have decided to definitely add this to my To Do list, probably shortly after the Holidays. I'm thinking of modding between two and four of my wahs. I might have missed this on your site, but I'm wondering if you can also install true bypass, Dave. Regards, Corleone |

This board is set up really well - I like the form and the usage----the one thing that you cant do is contact someone off board, since the emails arent posted- so some of the off subject garbage gets dumped here-rather than being in personal emails- a price for privacy.....

Hi there
No sweat, Corleone. I have 100% confidence in everything I make, so theres nothing anyone can say thats really going to bother me. I just speak the truth and provide links to my site, and everything works out just fine,.,., But heres what bugs me a little Bulletin boards with no log-in. Like this one, for example. Anyone can post under any name. Anonymous ball busters can post whatever they want, with whatever name they want, and a board like this can easily become a free-for-all, which in my opinion is dangerous. Ive seen some anti-Fulltone posts that are pure BS, and I think that SUCKS. And the anonymous aspect, in my opinion throws all credibility in the trash. I prefer to hang out at places like the HC forum, where theres a log in, and a post count, so you can tell if someones for real or not. If someone trashes, or praises something to the extreme, and they have a low post count, you know its BS. Theres an element of identity, which doesnt exist in an anonymous forum. And this has nothing to do with "freedom". Nothing against the people who frequent or run this board, who Im sure are on the level, for the most part. I just want to be left out because the troll factor is too high. So if anyone wants to chat with me on line, you can find me at HC or Analog Mikes Vintage guitar effects forum, but you must log in! Or you can just email me. Davefox@foxroxelectronics.com www.foxroxelectronics.com Later, fellers!! |

Corleone, there's a link on the Fulltone site that describes how to install a true bypass switch on a wah. It takes a DPDT switch like a Carling 316-PP. http://www.fulltone.com/qaframe.html

Appreciate that, SP Dave.
Wish I was on your level with DIY projects... Been talking to a knowledgeable buddy about "supervising" and bailing me out on such a project in exchange for playing lessons. Everybody's gotta start somewhere! |

Corleone, I'm not terribly advanced actually. I've read a lot of the stuff on the sites accessible through Harmony Central, such as Aron Nelson's site, Jack Ormand's AMZ, & R.G. Keen's GEOFEX. The latest money saving trick I've learned is using business cards as circuit boards. I had been paying like $6 or so for fiberglass boards without any copper, for point to point wiring. Lately I've been picking up a couple of business cards each time I go to Eatza Pizza, gluing them together, then poking the holes with push pins. Much cheaper that way, then I use velcro to fasten them inside the box. That seems to be working just fine so far.

I heard from a guy who has repaired a number of Dumble amps that one dumble used a flattened coffee can for pan (where all the caps/resistors are)--- and one was even made of wood, use what you got I guess.......
