Hi,

I have the following setup and was wondering if anyone has some tips on which order I should place them for my purposes.

Gear:

Gibson ES 335 w/ Wagner Crossroads
Fender HRD 1x12

TC Nova Delay
Keeley Compressor
Empress Tremolo
Fulltone FatBoost II
Teese RMC PW
ProCo Rat
BOSS TU2 tuner
BOSS DM2 delay
Cochrane Timmy

I was thinking of putting the Nova and the DM2 into the effects loop as they aren't true bypass and the Nova converts the signal to digital even when bypassed I think. Would this be better?

The amp is run clean and I use the clean boost for clean leads and the Timmy for overdriven rhythm tones.

Would be great to get some tips on where to place these pedals in the chain.

Thanks!

I keep my tuner( same as yours) at the end of my board because it isn't truebypass...the buffer, which can colour tone ( noticably?) also helps mitigate the effect of longer chord length( which can also colour tone...say you've a 10' chord to and from then add how much distance you have in pedadls and connectors, youre signalis probably actually running through at least 25+ ft of chord... a little boost/buffer isn't out of line to get the signal back intact ...I've considered running my modulation efects seperatly through my effects loop, but the reality of setting up and tearing down at a gig ( while the beer is getting warm Big Grin) keeps me from it...nice set up BTW!!!

A typical setup might be guitar>tuner>wah>compressor>fatboost>RAT>Timmy>amp, delays and mod pedals run through your fx loop (might as well use it if you have one). But as others here will point out, the best solution is probably trial/error: you'll eventually hit on the setup that sounds best for your rig. Then, a week later, you'll change it again. The Fatboost 2 and the Timmy sound great together, btw.

I would do it like this. I actually have
my set up like this.

Teese RMC PW
Fulltone FatBoost II (it´s on all the time, as a "buffer" and
to boost the signal a bit even on clean sound)
my StroboStomp is here
Keeley Compressor
ProCo Rat (I use other dirts here)
Cochrane Timmy (or at the very end to boost everything)

I have other tremolo and delays on my board

Empress Tremolo
C Nova Delay
BOSS DM2 delay
BOSS TU2 tuner

at the very en I have an
Keeley Katana Boost

Here is what I would try first:

Gibson ES 335 w/ Wagner Crossroads
into…

Teese RMC PW => BOSS TU2 tuner
ProCo Rat
Cochrane Timmy
Fulltone FatBoost II
Keeley Compressor
BOSS DM2 delay –or- TC Nova Delay [You Choose]
Empress Tremolo
into…

Fender HRD 1x12

The Teese goes first to manage oscillation unless you have the FF technology where I'd want to experiment a bit more with placement; I wouldn't want that tuner in my chain at all - I'd plug it in off the Teese or get another one that is TBP - the buffer in the delay should work well enough; I prefer high gain into low gain devices to manage volume spikes; I also prefer my compressor after ODs to smooth it all out.
