Well, I have a Fender Princeton Reverb, and I get some great overdrive when I set it around 5. I've been playing like this for a while now, but I want a little more. What do you guys think will work well with this amp? I know blackfaces can be finicky. I have a tube screamer that I throw in front of it sometimes, and it is alright...
I'm looking for the hard rock territory distortion, maybe a bit over the top. Thanks.
Maybe stacking another OD with the TS? I think SRV used 2 TS's stacked.
Maybe OCD>TS?
I really dig my Blues Pro. Not the most gain ever. But, I find it very musical.
Tonight, I'll be taking a Timmy and a Deluse Reverb styled amp to a Jam Session. I'll report back about that. The Timmy really seems to fatten up the tones of this amp.
Another favorite of mine, is a RAT. I find them to be very versatile.
"now i dream about tone, day dream about tone, think about tone at work, think about tone when im taking a dump, musiciansfriend and vintage guitar mag right next to the toilet....its getting weird"
Eternity into a DRRI, Twin, and Champ have all sounded primo with a strat Bet it would work with the Princeton too. Your choice of guitar is going to have a huge thing to say about this.

Great! Hmmm, my definition of Hard Rock? Chili Peppers, Zep, Purple, Dinosaur Jr, Bolin. Melvins will be the heavist I'd go for though. Right now, I have an Edwards Les Paul Copy, and a MIM 60s strat. I'm also looking for a new guitar, but I'm not sure what to get yet.
the OCD can do Zep, Purple, Bolin and RHCP no problems. For the Melvins and Dinosaur Jr., it would be nice to have a Big Muff or another really hairy fuzz.
