I plan on getting a True Bypass box from Pedalboard.com - I run my wah, trem, phaser and Boss tu-2 in front of the amp. I run my delay, chorus and Flange thru my fx loop. Should I get a 2nd bypass for the pedals in the fx loop or do these have any impact on my tone at all? I run an ADA Flanger, EH Small Clone Reissue, and A Line 6 DL-4. I know the EH isn't True Bypass, I doubt the ADA is and the manual says Line 6 is true bypass- Once again - do you think these pedals will have any negative impact on my tone if they are in the fx loop and i don't use a bypass box? Thanx, Rai www.simple168.com

From a convenience standpoint it might be a good idea to have a second bypass for the loop. If you use two or three pedals together you could set them up the way you like them,& switch them on & off,as one unit. Thanks for the name of pedalboard.com I'll check them out.

Before you do this you might want to listen, some pedals affect tone much more than others, some even w/out true bypass are not too bad...Also, the bypass box on pedalboard.com looks like you need a box for each pedal, or they sell a double. So for multiple pedals, you need multiple bypass boxes. Anybody know of a patch-bay type product that lets you plug all pedals into one unit and then switch them in and out of true bypass? I think the Bradshaw switching units do this but I'm not sure, I also think they are big $$$ Good luck

You could group pedals together,& switch them all in or out at the same time, like an entire FX loop being switched in or out. That would only require one switch per group. I noticed that you can also use those switches as A/B switches. I'd be interested in one of the doubles for myself. Have to ask Santa,I guess.
One of these has a true bypass strip... with wich you can get as many pedals as you want with dedicated true bypass.
If you find yourself using more than one pedal together, and need switching bot off at teh same time you could hook them up to a single true bypass... just by ignoring teh connection between the 2pedals. This way you can take them both off and on with true bypass as you wish.

Both of these places seem to sell very nice stuff. However none of these bypass boxes or strips or programmable, meaning you can true bypass 1 pedal or a group of pedals, but you can't select combinations of pedals. BCRich made something where you could, DW Labs did, the ROcktron Patchmate , The Voodoo Lab GCX /Ground Control system, the Bradshaw stuff etc allows you to bypass fx but also stomp on 1 button and select any combination of fx. Currently Ted Weber on the Webervst bb is contemplating building something like this and I'm trying to encourage him as I'd kill for an affordable , all on the floor (not floor and rackmount like the Bradshaw/VL,etc) system that worked. Who knows if it will materialize but to me the programmability is a must.

Wow thanx for all the input guys - I thought it was a pretty cool product- I went ahead and ordered it. I am waiting on the one for the FX loop only because I figure, I have been running my pedals through there so far, w one by pass it's a lil better if anything. As far as turning on multiple pedals, what about turning on the ones you want when it is in bypass mode, ahead of when you need the effect(s), then turn off th ebypass thus - one click? This is what I plan on doing anyhow. The 2 banger one looks cool too - it's too bad they didn't make it w two input/outputs for the signal path (not the fx input/output) Once again thanx guys! Look at www.banzaieffects.com They offer a true bypass switch & a pedal that allows you to reverse the order in which two effects enter the loop. Think A>B/B>A if that makes more sense. You can place one pedal before or after another pedal, with that switch.

I about two weeks there will be a big update on my page (www.banzaieffects.com) and I will offer a Double True Bypass Box. The normal True Bypass Box as well as the Effects Order Changer will get a facelift and will look MUCH nicer.
