So, say you're on your way to a gig in Australia, and your plane crashes into the ocean. You survive, and manage to swim to a nearby desert island (that happens to have a couple of electrical outlets). Miraculously, ten cases of Newcastle's and three pieces of your gear have washed up on the beach, completely intact and functional (thank God you invested in those incredibly expensive road cases!). You happen to have a bottle opener in your pocket, and a couple of picks. Which three pieces of gear are the absolute, rock-bottom essentials for gigging, practice, and/or your basic desert island rock-a-thon? For me, it'd be my NOS '56 Strat, Dr. Z Maz 18 reverb (Toyz blonde, of course), and a coin-toss between a Gainster and a Zendrive. You?

The drunker I sound, the better you get.

My trusty Reverend, any good amp really (if I don't have earplugs with me probably <18 watts) and I'll take a nice groupie instead of a stompbox Wink

Thank God for the Electrical outlets. A refrigerator, you know we Yanks hate warm beer. A wide brimmed hat and one of Rolo's babes (Maybe the blonde Dirty Murphy flipped over) would complete my trio.

I think I could cover just about anything with a maple board strat with a bucker in the bridge, a TS-9, and my Savage Macht 12 amp.

I would probably have to say

Nash Strat, Princeton Reverb, DD-5.

DD-5 only so i can have super long delay times and some looping. Who else do i have to play along with?
Also, thought about going with solid state amp. What happens when i blow tubes!!!!>?

Note to readers: i don't own a Nash Strat or Princeton currently. So out of current owned equip, Nash Esquire and Maz 18, or Hiwatt 50.

Also, i'll take brunette over blonde, and Stone Ipa over Newcastle.

cheers

aaron

I'd go with a Strat (Suhr Classic) a Fender Deluxe Reverb (tuned to perfection and a couple extra sets of tubes tucked inside) and one of those Eternity/COT50 dually pedals.
