It just might be the Guyatone Flip TD-X. It got some solid accolades from folks in the know, but some outright dismissals too. I payed with it for about 30 minutes tonight (at low volume) but so far I am VERY impressed and can't hear anything wrong with it. That's a good sign because I can usually find somethign to dislike in that time frame. It needs to pass the overdrive and high volume tests to see what it does to my base tone. Because it's digital I am expecting the effect to be accented but still hoping for the best. At least it's true bypass and I can change the tube inside to affect the dirt on the repeats. Initially though it's sounding very very good. Smile

I had one. Although I no longer have it it is a good delay and I've had a lot. Changing out the tube to a lower gain one does effect the dirt on the delays and the right tube can sound pretty sweet. Definitely adds a analog tone to the repeats and it has the long delay time of 2600 ms of digital. Runs at 12 volts and that seems to help with the headroom running dirt into it. A nice unit.

I had one, good delay. Has some unique features. But if you're looking for an analog sound, the DMM and AD999 have spoiled me for anything else.

I also had there Flip Tremolo- which I liked even more than the Echo. Guyatone maes good stuff.

Well I am pretty impressed after playing more with this pedal. There IS an effect on my tone, but it is really minor. It's as if the buffer is affecting my dry tone a little, making it a smidge brighter. The repeats are the same though, no different than the original signal. I will definitely try a lower gain tube, I have lots of them. A minor quibble is that the mix knob doesn't seem to work all that well. Some have said the repeats can be made louder than the dry signal, I don't hear it. Maybe the knobs are interactive?

From memory, I would say that the sound is on par with my Blackbox Quicksilver which I loved but sold 8 or 9 months ago because it was worth more to me as cash at the time (another very pricey one). I'd say this TD-X has roughly the same sound quality with a similar versatility (wet/dry outs) minus the QS modulation which I loved but never used much.

I got this pedal for a song so that definitely plays a role in my overall satisfaction! The price of a new one is a little too high IMO. Still better than most analog units but it does offer more delay time. It's also smaller than I thought it would be, same footprint as a Barber pedal. I'm not a huge delay user, but that's partly because I hadn't found a unit that really pleased me. This one's good enough to take the place of reverb on non-reverb amps and that's saying alot. Next is to test it beside a T-Rex Replica.
