I am so goddamn happy right now...I'm a Mets fan usually...and I'm not a Yankee hater...but seriously...Boston needed this, everytime I play shows up there around this time of year I swear it's like Suicide rates go up around every Sox loss...good for them, they've earned it. And I also want to say that the Yanks were pretty damn impressive for a team that was supposed to be sweeped.

Howdy!

Uh.

The curse has not been broken.

Celebrate all you want... Don't get me wrong.

The Sox have to win the World Series.

But don't worry.

They will.

My god how I love this team.

Man I am so happy for the Red Sox faithful. To come back from a 3-0 defecit - against the New York Yankees - is basically accomplishing the impossible. This will be the first time in my life that I'll be rooting for an American League club in the Series.

If there's a "curse" - it's gotta be on the friggin' Braves. Those guys never cease to piss me off when it counts.

C'mon. Stop it. As a Sox fan you know better. The cold, dead fingers of the bambino still stretch forth from the tomb. Let me speculate.

Roger Clemons-(former Red Sox great who stated that when he is enshrined in cooperstown he will insist that his bust have a YANKEE cap on it)-will win game seven in the NLCS tomorrow. Then he will win two games against the Sox and save game seven and be named world series MVP. And that will be the crowning, final moment of glory in his hall of Fame career.

The bambino works in mysterious, diabolical ways. You were expecting some nobody like Tony Clark to win the thing or some chump like Bellhorn to lose the thing because that's what you've been conditioned to expect. I think the Bambino is just getting downright evil on ya.

The Braves are just perpetually pathetic this time of the year. No character, no color, no soul-(except for Smoltz)-and no curse.

Yankees fan, eh?

Sorry, man.

Your boys just couldn't get it done this year.

Enjoy the slap-happy ARod. I couldn't be happier that he's on your team.

Nah. Marlin fan. Two world series victories in the last ten years. But then I don't need to tell you how to do the math. Razz Actually whoever they play-it'll be a fun series to watch. I just think the ongoing saga of the curse and the prospect of Clemons pitching AGAINST them in the series is great drama. I really hope the astros win tomorrow. I think its your destiny and I think you KNOW its your destiny.

Right on, brother.

I'll give you super kudos for the 2003 victory. But that earlier victory? Man. What horrible owners! That was just unfair to Florida's baseball-loving public...

I'm actually hoping to face the Astros. The 'Stros are my second favorite team... I was born in Houston, so I have to pull for the fellas.

'Stros or Cardinals... It's gonna be one hell of a series!

I can't wait!

The other cool thing about Stros vs Sox is that it would legitimize the wild card. Although the Angels and Marlins have already done that I guess...

Yeah 2003 was a fun team to watch. Inspiring, colorful, suprising, overacheiving, gutsy-everything in fact the Braves-and Yankees for that matter-aren't.

The '97 team was actually pretty lame. That series actually has to rank as the worst seven game series ever. A bunch of hired guns thrown together for one year. The fact they faced the Indians guarnteed the ultimate win more then what they put on the field. (Again-the manifest destiny thing.) The more i think about it the more disappointed I'll be if the Cardinals win....

Boston is a freaking ghostown today! Everybody sleeping late and nursing hangovers. I had to get in the car and listen to Dennis and Callahan this AM though. Makes my 1.5 hour commute (1 way) go by very fast.

GC is about a half mile from Fenway, think I"ll head down there today and see if it got looted!

Well Im sad/happy to say my predictions are coming true.... sad because I predicted both series would go seven games and it would be Boston and Houston in 7 too( Im a Cardinals fan ) as the two presidential candidates are also from Boston and Houston states... one wins the Series the other wins the White House ( I really wanted Cards - Yanks 40th anniversery of the '64 series my Dad took me too when I was a wee pup)

Any way congrats Bostonians !!!!

Wooohoo!!!!!

You guys may not know that I'm a HUGE RED SOX/Baseball fan. Baseball is just as important to me as music...seriously. I'm all about baseball and the Red Sox did it baby.

There is no curse, but if you think there is, the Sox do need to win the World Series. They have home field advantage and they are just unbelievable right now.

This is the happiest day of my life!!!! This was the the best comeback in pro sports history...this was like a World Series game, the two best in my opinion. There is no other rivalry in sports like the Yanks & Sox! They came back to beat the Yankees from a 3-0 deficit at the Stadium, which was virtually impossible...We finally did it and the monkey is off our back!! I'm as high as a kite right now, I've never felt so happy. What a great team....now I can relax and start thinking about the World Series, man o man, this is truly unbelievable! Wink

Back when the World Series meant something, a second place team was just that. These playoffs are a money-generating joke. An excuse for up to 7 more games.

GO CARDS!!!!

I thought Boston would win before game one.

After losing 3 in a row I figured I was wrong and the Yankees would have a sweep if it were not for the fact that each game has to bring in at least $50 million for the owners and therefore go the full 7 games.
My wife thinks that is just the conspiracy theory guy in me. Smile

Boston won fair and square, had amazing pitching and hitting and frankly deserved to win.

Pedro Martinez is still a pompous low class pos in my book and if he had any class at all he would have shook Don Zimmer's hand on the mound after that unfortunate incident that they had last year. Especially after Don Z. had said he was sorry. OK that's all in the past now but still reflects on Pedro's character.

Now, I am a Cards fan because I am a big fan of "The DonneR" and hope they win tonight.

Interesting thought that Houston wins and it parallels the election. Perhaps Boston scores more runs but loses the game? Big Grin

Fun Fun Fun what ever happens Smile

This is great baseball, and great theater. I'm a Yankee fan through and through. I'm a Steinbrenner hater, but I have no choice in the matter about the Yanks, I remember watching Yankee games with my grandfather before I remember just about anything else, trading baseball cards as a kid, the M&M Boys, etc.

I kept thinking this was the year, that it would be Boston vs. St Louis and Boston would finally do it. When they started to come back against the Yanks my suspcicion deepened. Now that they've done the impossible, they have to do it again. It makes perfect sense that to throw off the curse they'd have to run some kind of gauntlet, and coming back against the Yanks after being down 0-3 sounds about right. Now the real work begins.

I don't believe in voodoo or fate or any of that stuff, I'm a diehard atheist. But baseball is a funny game, you know? And so, I never thought I'd say this, but: Go Sox!

Clemens would pitch in Houston in game three, but he wouldn't face the Sox at Fenway unless it got to a seventh game--wouldn't that be something!

------------------------------

2 Kings 2:23-24 NKJV:
And as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths."

Wow! Yes it would and the media would eat that right up. Just think, the last time the Sox were in the WS, Clemens was with them...he was a rookie in '86.

It would be the ultimate dagger in the heart of the die hard Sox fan if the Astros win in seven-which is why of course it has to happen. I think the Clemons angle is a lot more compelling then the Bush vs Kerry angle. Bush owned the Rangers-I don't see how the Astros are relevant in that equation.
